Thanks for the breaking news ping!
When I got home from work today, I was able to catch up with the news while doing chores and feeding the chickadees.
Two reports that I saw gave me pause to appreciate what our troops are enduring over there.
One was an interview with a female pilot who had just deplaned from a bombing mission. She told of her mission and how on the way back, getting hit by lightning and having her warning system go out. Reporter asked if she was frightened or worried. She said "no, I just told my wingman about it and responded to his system on the way back." She was beaming, excited and seemed so impowered and confident!
The other report was a series of stills of our boys and girls on the Abe Lincoln. Here are some 18 and 19 year olds that are guiding these aircraft (each worth millions) on and off this short deck. The reporter said he was astounded with the level of maturity and disipline that they had! Incredible!!!
