Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running over the weekend and Monday, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Stalingrad is the farthest city inside Russia that the Germans got before being pushed back. LOTS and LOTS of civilian casualties. There was a movie by the same name out a couple years ago about a couple snipers that were hunting each other during hte battle.

I think with our troops approaching Baghdad we are going to see a new approach and all I can say is that it is about time! President Bush will make that call just as he made the call in the Azores. Not to mention the call to try and get Saddam that first night and didn't tell Blair until minutes before (thought that was odd at the time).

and some may actually be civilian targets used by the military Yes, it's horrible to have to make that choice but it may be the only choice. These people are scumbags to use innocents as shields.

Yes but a breach in supply lines will leave our dragon's head without a body.

Tony Blair, well I'm not sure how much I trust him. Oh I wouldn't dump Blair so fast .. he has taken alot of heat/crap for standing by us on this war. He may not be Bush, but he does deserve credit for not wimping out on us

Ok......back on this thread. And I'm going to add my two cents worth to an issue discussed earlier on this thread.
I beg to differ re: how 'stress/nerves/etc. is handled by some on this thread.
Tonight, a friend came to FR for the first time. She came because I told her about the GREAT Live Situation Room thread.
By the time she waded thru all the hooters /boobs /silcone /bellygirl /fakies /camo pasties /breasts /sillycones /gift ho/ heiffers/ stripper/pump 'em up/ posts, she was pretty disgusted. She msgd me and told me she'd find somewhere that didn't seem so adolescent.
I realize that the thread got back on topic by the 300's...but by then she was gone.
I agree with goodnesswins...and my only reason for posting this is to ask each of you to help keep the thread on topic.
I understand the need for humor....but the TYPE of humor has offended even other posters on this board who don't want to have to wade thru the 'boys' fun and games--and are now getting their information on other threads.
There is so much GOOD we learn from each other on this thread, so let's not let it get into the "T and A" type posts. And each of us can help by monitoring and admonishing if we see it denigrating.
Sorry for the soapbox. I'll be quiet now.

one of these posts, I'm going to ask a question that actually takes y'all more than 3.6 seconds to answer
I am duly impressed by the way, at how quickly questions are answered (and tolerated) over here.
