Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running over the weekend and Monday, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...
TOPICS: Breaking News; Foreign Affairs; War on Terror

Hate it when that happens. Trust me, cable is nice (especially when the neighbors aren't using the bandwidth).
What really helps out is including the size of the pic in the IMG tag (height=H width=W, where the pic is W x H pixels).

The Russians are cloaked, and secretive, and paranoid. It's never made sense to me either and honestly, I had alot of the same thoughts that you expressed. It really does seem like cold war era stuff to me, too. It's really a shame.

Interesting. My enemy's enemy is my friend, and Putin has shown himself to be an enemy. I hope the Brits don't extradite the guy, the more thorns in Putin's side the better.
Plus it's ironic that the guy acuses Putin of setting up the apartment bombings to justify the Chechen war. While it's probably total nonsense, it is reminiscent of the French claiming we did 9/11 to ourselves. Would serve Putin right to get smeared with such rubbish.

Well, it's good to have goals!! LOL!

Don't get me started on Putin

O'Reilly just said the CIA estimates 25,000 Iraqis soldiers killed. That was last night.

I think he will have a problem. It took him awhile to find his niche and country is it. Not sure he is going to be able to cross all the genres that they will have but I hope he does.
Big boy and Geek boy will be up at the top.
I would love to know how Gracin is going to be able to do this contest because they all live in a house together. So, is he off duty until he is called? Been wondering how they would handle it. He has to walk a fine line in order not to make the american public resentful that he isn't over there risking his life - especially if casualties mount.

I'm in Arizona so Idol doesn't come on for 45 more minutes, but Trenyce is a front-runner for sure.
What's the music style tonight? I heard it would be disco, then someone told me they read it would be country.

Putin is such a major disappointment!! He had the opportunity to change the complexion (no pun) of his country and help them toward better things and all he can muster is his old-line KGB responses. So sad for them.Tell me about it, Prairie.
I am terribly terribly disappointed by Putin. Maybe I'm a fool for expecting more, but I didn't get it.

He's really great. He deserves to have a spot reserved. Very strong performer.
Trenyce didn't do that well. Such a shame. She's one of the better ones, IMO.
Ms. Locke needs to get out from behind the microphone . . . Beautiful song, though . . .
