Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running over the weekend and Monday, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

The press-idjits thought "Shock & Awe" meant 3,000 bombs on ragheads and then it would all be over [except, of course, for the wonderful U.N. coming in to "clean up our mess"].
These people are dumber than a dumb bomb.

Q: "Do you think you built peoples expectations up too much by promoting Shock and Awe"
Rummy: We didn't kill any civilians did we?
HA! I for one was shocked and awed, how 'bout y'all?
To: this_ol_patriot
Reporter unbelievably insists that the Pentagon gave the impression we were going to drop 3000 bombs and it would all be over.
Rumsfeld says he never said that and no one he knows of said that. Reporter insists this was the "impression".
Rumsfeld asks why we would bother then to have our trained units there who have other tasks.
That was such an asinine question, I'm stepping away and will listen but the questions are el stupido.

It gives us no advantage to slowly poison people when we could just kill them right then and there These people just can't give it a rest. Free Speech TV runs a "documentary" constantly about the evils of the US military and our diabolical use of radioactive waste weapons, depleted uranium, etc.
If you have never seen Free Speech TV, I warn you, it is not for the faint of heart!

You mean DEPLETED URANIUM tipped shells??? Well of course we use those to bust up tanks but...it's not radioactive waste. Sounds like that might be what the idiots on the left are freaking about...

Rumsfeld handles the press so well and am glad the shock and awe campaign matter was addressed by him specifically. He's very careful not to let them put words in his mouth.

Q: Are you going to use the Red Cross to retrieve the bodies of the soldiers, and the POW's?
dude...
of course we're sending in the red cross for a recovery mission..those are the toughest of the elite forces we have....DUh
I think Rummy should start employing the "ask a stupid question get a stupid answer" policy.
My children ask more intelligent questions
To: Mo1
HEY MEDIA DUDE .. It was YOU GUYS that did that .. YOU are the ones doing the reporting Ha ha - that's exactly what I was shouting at the television!
