Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running over the weekend and Monday, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Daschle have to stand up in front of Congress and take questions would be great entertainment! That would be worth seeing live. I'd drive up to DC just to see that. Good thing it's only a 3 1/2 hour drive from here

officials saying at least 500 Iraqi's killed in the last 2 days of fighting .. that doesn't even count the ones killed in the bombings of baghdad, Mosul, Kirkuk and tikrit.
500 to 28 (12 US, 16 UK) --- not a bad ratio ;-)

This Aussie gets it:
We must go to war: VC hero, Feb. 02, '03 - Australian Vietnam veteran Keith Payne, the last Australian to win the Commonwealth's highest bravery award, the Victoria Cross.

Sorry to ask this question but is this a "compassionate conservative" war? IMHO, No. Dubya and the rest of the coalition are under a great deal of scrutiny from the "I told you so" crowd and are bending over backwards to show them and the world that we truely want to liberate the Iraqi people and eliminate the threat of Saddam's WMD arsenal.
This has been planned down to the number of Bootlaces to send in the resupply ships. Don't get too frustrated so early on.

No links yet. Must be just on the cable channels. There's post with the info on Main Forum--but no story link.

Aren't you in Huntsville, AL.?
I know a few people who are supporting the Patriot on Redstone. Having to work pretty long hours.
Most everyone at NASA that I talk to just wants us to kick Saddam into an early judgement day.

Speaking of Sky News, I'm having a lot of difficulty getting the live link running. Have to keep hitting play and hope it hooks up.

Hmmmm...curious....
Watching MSNBC/David Bloom's webcam, he appears in total darkness.
Simultaneously watching CNN Bagdad webcam, Badgad appears to still be daylight.

No, I am in Atlanta. Went to college in Alabama though (Auburn). I do know some folks in Huntsville and yes, they feel like you mention.

Speaking of Sky News, I'm having a lot of difficulty getting the live link running. Have to keep hitting play and hope it hooks up. I got lucky early this morning. I'm sure the load will shut it down soon enough then we'll be relegated to the Beeb.

More Quagmire Stories . . . When will we be mired with quagmire stories? ;P

We need to start an archive of quagmire stories to show the duplicity of the media.
