NBC News ran a background story about Jose Guiterrez, killed U.S. Marine. He came to the country illegally from Guatemala in a freight train. Lived in a foster home, became a U.S. Marine and died in the last few days in Iraq. Brokow follows up with: "Think about that before you rail against illegal immigrants again!"

so one guy's heroism negates the fact that we have wholesale illegal immigration--often park rangers and border guards are killed by illegals, many illegals are in our prisons.
it's funny, tom nightly voices contempt for soldiers and people that might vote republican. so tom's feeling is don't let military votes count, insult the values of those who serve nightly, provide damage control for tom daschle who on the eve of war was still playing nasty partisan politics.
so what about christian conservatives who die for their country--is tom gonna pause for a half-second before he rails against christian conservatives again? what about soldiers who die serving their country who are pro-life. is tom gonna avoid gratuitous partisan shots at pro-lifers?
tom needs to get a grip and stop using the dead to further his liberal agenda bs!!

Every chance I get, I'll rail against illegal immigrants who fly airplanes into buildings and slaughter thousands of Americans. Don't try to stop me, Tom.

Jose is a one in a million case--he's not the norm. When the next Islamonut sneeks into this country and kills thousands of Americans we will be thinking about that Tom--not this exception to the rule.

..and he's proof of the need in immigration reform ---the whole system needs changing..
Well, we agree on this completely.
We are letting people in here who want the buck, but they don't seem to want to assimilate. It's depressing to say the very least.
The only thing that's worse is being against illegal immigration and then having the open-border nazi's try to paint you as "racist" for it.
I honestly don't think I could envision a worse situation regarding the border/immigration issue. I really don't.

Tom Brokaw's comments are out of line, as usual.
As far as the brave Marine who died, he has a very special place in my heart, as my beautiful babies laughing and playing in the other room right now were born in Guatemala. I have a great love for their birth country and the people I met there last year. It doesn't surprise me that Lance Cpl. Jose Gutierrez wanted to give back what he felt the US had blessed him with. Prayers for his family in both countries.

His memory should be honored, just as we honor the memory of the others who have made the supreme sacrifice for our country. Yes, but sadly, always with a footnote mentioning the fact that he first set foot in this country as a criminal.

Hey little Tommy stooge, I got yur story for ya- right here! A statement like that must have an accompanying pic.

Illegal aliens aren't illegal aliens anymore after they join the military or become U.S. citizens ... DOH!
Yes, illegal aliens (or foriegn nationals) can serve in the US military, and the U.S. military recruits extensively in Mexico (at least in Tijuana) and the Philipines.
We are so proud of you, Jose Guiterrez of Los Angeles, California, for giving your life so that the lice and maggot-infected neohippies can protest against George W. Bush, against America, and against the Iraq war up there in San Fransico.
Ironically, San Fransico may be the first target city of the 6 Iraqis now reported to be backpacking smallpox or other biological and chemical weapons into the U.S., as the C.I.A. reports.
Surely God has you now for the liberation of the Iraqi people.

Brokow follows up with: "Think about that before you rail against illegal immigrants again!"Brokaw's only interest in illegal immigrants is their ability to give birth to litters of future welfare Democrats. What a scumbag.

Here's an example of the border situation and immigration:
Biggest woe for border doctors not on agenda
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/874533/posts "the 2000 insurance mix for El Paso was 35 percent uninsured; 33 percent government programs; 32 percent commercial or private pay. In Austin, the insurance mix (for 2000) was 18 percent, uninsured; 13 percent government programs; 69 percent commercial or private pay."
This guy is a hero ----but it doesn't mean there isn't a problem with massive immigration of people who need handouts and that the State of Texas is quickly heading the way of California ----very Socialist. This guy isn't the problem, he learned English, he assimilated which isn't the case for very many. That's why I wouldn't call him a criminal, I don't care if he was an illegal and for many reaons I don't believe every legal is good, every illegal is bad. His sacrifice to this country doesn't change the fact that many are only coming here for what they can take.

and it's gruesome for them to use his tragic death for some other agenda they wish to push.Agreed. Why wasn't he just "an American"?
To: eBay Artist
Brokow follows up with: "Think about that before you rail against illegal immigrants again!" Speaking as a former U.S. Marine (Vietnam era) who was originally from Canada ... I was legally documented as a foreign national while serving in the Corps. So Brokaw, you liberal slime ball, there's legal protocal in place that allows an individual to receive a green card. It starts with a visit to the U.S. embassy or a consulate office in your country of origin. You don't need to sneak across the U.S. border on a freight train ...

Off the top of my head I can name 17 friends/associates who are or were at one point illegal immigrants. Except for 3 moms and their children, all are working, all have or will work there way through the process and become American citizensIt's amazing what some people will try to throw in to win a debate or argument..
Off the top of my head, I can name 52 friends/associates who are or were at one point illegal aliens, they are now senior scientist, and airline pilots for Delta airlines, and one of their mothers is training with NASA to become a space shuttle engineer......
LOL! Sometimes I need skies to manuver around all this BS...........

So you are calling me a liar?
Typical blowhard. Don't let facts get in the way of your xenophobic views.
