This isn't directed at you, but I don't understand people's pre-occupation with celebrities. Whether they agree with your position or not. Half of them I wouldn't let mow my lawn.

Personally, I voted (with majority of Americans) with my TV remote. No Oscars on this TV.

Haven't watched that self-promotion jubilee called the Oscars since '77.
But my wife had it on & I just happened to be passing through the room when that miscreant Moore uttered his remarkable statements.

I was outraged that he was allowed to keep that yellow-coated plaster statuette!

That is until I recalled that Hollywood has been since before the fifties a hotbed of anti-Americanism.

I personally would like to pay for Moore's way to Iraq now, so he can get first hand coverage of what actually is '...nonfiction'!

If Moore is considered top of the heap in Hollywood, evolution is a flawed theroy. Does a species go backward in development?

Michel Moore is the futute of the Democratic Party of America. National Lampoon's Animal House is no longer fiction but a reality on a grand scale. What was the deans quote? "Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go though life."

Not to mention Roman Polanski getting 'Best Director'...

He was a no show because if he ever comes into our country again, he will be arrested ....for rape of a 13 year old.
This happened 20 years ago...and he left the country to avoid prosecution.

Nice selection for an Oscar, eh.

When Sharon Tate and all were murdered, Polanski's history drug use nearly derailed the investitation. Its a shame Polanski was away from home at the time of the killings.

I never said all actors are cattle; what I said was all actors should be treated like cattle

Me too.

And, while I have you attention, lisaann8, I also fail to understand the ever-growing habit of a school of FR posters of posting only excerpted bits of articles and creating the requirement that if one is to read the whole piece one must follow a link to God-alone-knows-where-and-what site -- and give it a "hit."

This defeats FR's purpose of gathering everything on one site -- and, sorry -- but [A habit I FIRMLY established when the WishPost/LAslimes litigation began] I'm not following ANY links on ANY excerpted articles.

And who will ever know? Maybe, had you posted it, I would have enjoyed it.

Best ones -- Brian

Correct me if I am mistaken but I believe Polansky was convicted and fled prior to sentencing.

To France, where he is at home among his peers.

No, I did not know that.

You're not making this up ?

No wonder he knows how to handle those perps at the precinct !

I know that Sipowicz served in Viet Nam.
