He feared persecution. "He wouldn't try to take nobody's life," his mother said.

Denial ain't just a river in Egypt.

The motive in the attack "most likely was resentment," said Max Blumenfeld, another U.S. Army spokesman

Hmm... Maybe we shouldn't have deployed our "Muslim" soldiers to Iraq.

This guy chose his religion over his country. He should burn for his actions.

No civilian courts and civilian lawyers for him. UCMJ covers this quite well.

This guy should face a twenty-one gun salute with live ammo aimed directly at him. I know it will never happen...the A.C.L.U. is probably already on it and Johnny Cochran has probably been contacted.

Heath also said Akbar had been having "an attitude problem."

I have a quick solution to Akbar's attitude problem.

How about a firing squad.

He said the only thing he was going out there to do was blow up the bridges."

Hmmmm.....odd statement in light of the fact that we are purposely NOT blowing up the bridges this time.

He was a double major in aeronautical and mechanical engineering, and graduated with a bachelor's degree as Hasan Karim Akbar nine years later, apparently because "he stopped and started several times" with his classes, Lapin said.

I don't care if it took him 9 years this is not an easy degree set. The guy had some type of brains. Islam rotted it with anger.

I do believe that he's quickly heading to a firing squad, or a gallows. And the military's courts work *much* faster than our courts.

"He wouldn't try to take nobody's life," she said. "He's not like that.

He did try to take somebody's life and he succeeded.

Give him over to his former squad for a grenade suppository and on to Baghdad.

"He wouldn't try to take nobody's life," she said.

Maybe somebody should tell Quran Bilal that a double negative is a positive.

One address for Mark Fidel Kools in Los Angeles is the Bilal Islamic Center, a collection of small buildings and mobile homes around a mosque that's under construction.

Does this mean he lived in the mosque complex while he was a student at UC Davis?

He wouldn't try to take nobody's life," his mother said.

Well, at least she got that right, he tried to take the lives of some very good and brave people, not nobodies. It sounds like her son was a lot better educated than his mother.

"A woman who said she is Akbar's mother, Quran Bilal, told The Tennessean of Nashville that she was concerned her son might have been accused because he is a Muslim, adding he was not allowed to participate in the first Gulf War because of his religion."

I have heard many times that he recently converted to
Islam. Now his mother is saying that he was not allowed to participate in the 1st Gulf War because of his muslim religion. Something wrong here. Also I would like to know whether his religion is the Black Muslim religion (all bad) or Islam (mostly bad) and the rationale for giving this baby the middle name, "Fidel".

As Micheal Savage said on his show today...This is potentially the biggest story of the war ("sleepers" in the US military) yet it has dropped off the media airwaves.

Would this story be just as insignificant to the media if the sleeper had been blond hair/blue eyed like Timothy McVeigh?

Good question.

Mark Fidel Kools came to the University of California, Davis, in 1988, school spokeswoman Lisa Lapin said. He was a double major in aeronautical and mechanical engineering, and graduated with a bachelor's degree as Hasan Karim Akbar nine years later, apparently because "he stopped and started several times" with his classes, Lapin said.

WRONG. He had a single major, and in nine years, earned only a single degree from the Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering Department at UC Davis
