G'morning, my friend :)

The weather was nice but the Rally only lasted about 30 minutes. Glad I took some pics when we first got there!
To: Pippin
Howdy ! Nice weather in your neighborhood today I see.
I think we're heading for about 80 degrees today . . .

Good morning, dear sistah....There were lots of sickening things at the Oscars last night but Michael Moore's speech was the worst....He did get boos but not nearly enough, IMO. On the plus side, the ratings were way down this year and probably will be the worst in history. I did not see one flag pin - one yellow ribbon was the closest patriotic gesture I saw.

Hi, (((MEEKIE))))!
Looks like you're headed for a lovely week!
except for Tuesday and Friday, LOL!

Hi, I heard Sean Astin (Sam Gamgee in the Lord of the Rings movie) was there and he was wearing an American flag pin. He is a democrat who supports President Bush and is in favor of the war to liberate the Iraqi people.
He is on the Security task force set up by President Bush.
Sean is the son of actors John Astin and Patty Duke Astin.

I am so happy your folks visited our Patriotic Music thread. It was a joy to do and I hope Aqua will "rerun" some of the great selections played that day.
Would also love to see Aqua put the Battle Hymm of the Republic to the pledge graphic photo of Lincoln that Billie did. Es possibel???lol....(i>The "boss" is back, hee hee)

Received this today, never been to a Targets but now I know I won't go to one: Subject: Target Stores
Vietnam Veterans Association
By Dick Forrey
We asked our local Target store to be a sponsor of the Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Wall during our spring recognition event. We received back a reply from Target management that "veterans do not meet our area of giving." We only donate to the areas of the arts, social actions, gay and lesbian causes and education.
My thought: If the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall and veterans in general, do not meet their donation criteria, something is wrong at Target.
We were not asking for thousands of dollars, not even hundreds, but simply sponsorship of an endorsement for a "memorial remembrance."
As follow-up, I emailed the corporate headquarters and their response was the same. Personally, I will NOT be purchasing anything at Target Stores again. If the Vietnam Veteran or Veterans in general do not meet their area of giving, then why should I, as a Vietnam veteran, spend my hard earned money in their stores?
Please pass this on to as many people as you know.
Sincerely,
Veterans Helping Veterans
PS: Target will also not allow the Marines to collect for Toys For Tots during the holidays.

You mean those folks at Target would rather give money and aid to Gays and Lesbians who are in my opinion really perverted, rather then to veterans who have given of themselves for thier country?
Show where Target's priorities are I guess! HMPH!

Hi Pip...Yep I saw Sean Astin in the audience but did not notice his flag pin but am happy to hear he had one on. Some of the Hollywood crowd do support Bush but it was suggested to the audience that they not display anything and many of the patriots complied but of course the libs had to show their fannies and wear their duct tape pins etc. Marty Ingels had the flag sewn inside his jacket and opened it for the cameras...that was great...
For you Pip,,,

One of the few flags seen last night and what a shame he felt he had to hide it...
Actor Marty Ingels opens his suit jacket to show an American flag as he and Shirley Jones, Academy Award winner for best supporting actress in 1960, arrive for the 75th annual Academy
