I am told in order to gather and to rally you are required to have a permit, I am a native Michigander actully wanting to start a rally for Troop support in Washington DC.
I am rather embarrased at not knowing this, but how do I get a permit?
Thank you for your help.

Cities have permitting offices...look in phone book under city and there should be an actual office number there.

He means... I think... in Washington DC itself. Such a question could be addressed to one's Congressional representative or senators, I would think. They are the "city hall" of Washington.

Welcome JessicaMarie! I'm pinging some of the DC FReepers who can answer this and I'm sure will be glad to hear of another FReeperette in their area who wants to get involved.

Please coordinate with us. We had one yesterday on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.
Permits are needed. For most of the venues we usually do, the property is run by the Park Police.
Kristinn, Angelwood, chime in pls.
