Post for our troops: The Oscars are not America!

To our troops overseas: Sadly, the Oscars tonight showed a part of America you did not want to see. You saw a fat, evil pig denouncing our nation for not catering to his selfish whims. You saw many of the "beautiful people" flashing peace signs, which to you are much the same as a middle finger. Be assured that these traitors are not America. They are rich, pampered idiots, many of whom could neither hold a job, make it through a real college degree, or, especially, survive a war. Michael Moore would waddle away from a battle as fast as he could; he is capable of talking all kinds of trash about you and our president, but in no way, shape, or form would he ever have the courage to say his vile lies to your face. George Clooney may make a handsome picture, but he would not last ten minutes against the lowest rungs of the Iraqi Army. Barbara Streisand may have some vocal skills, but ultimately she is an unattractive, dowdy has-been living off her money. It is you who are the real heroes, and we salute you. As such we represent the overwhelming majority of Americans, as opposed to the cowardly whiners like Michael Moore and George Clooney who hate the fact that you can kick their asses. We, the Free Republic, are behind you 100%, and we promise that if we see these traitors face to face we will let them know how little they are in comparison to you. Let the others in your unit know that we back them as well.

Freepers, give your support to our troops! As a former Marine, I know I wouldn't want to think that lowlifes like the Hollyweirdos were all that were waiting for me at home!

I'd bet that all of the revnues from the movies nominated combined didn't equal a tiny fraction of the total revenues of movies people view. HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of movies are released every year. The Academy is like a little clique in a high school. The thousand students NOT in the clique end up doing quite well in life, thank you.

The people who deserved the honors and respect tonight are the men and women of our military. I thank them for what they are doing!

I did not watch the Oscars, and I am reasonably certain that few Troops did as well.

That puke Michael Moore is another matter.

I see (I glimpsed a headline) that he won some prize.

This maggot is going to rue the day that he went against our Troops and the American way! He is vile and he is and sickening example of the gross and disgusting persons who earn a living from "entertainment" in our culture.

I asssure you, Michael Moore, you and those of your ilk are so very effing over.

Moore is a disgusting puke and he will not escape the venom of me and others!

Asshole.

I think that depends on who is the one giving the peace sign. Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins? We know how they feel, and a peace sign from them would be an insult.

Yes, our troops are the peacemakers, and God bless them all!

You know, though, after Moore made his little speech, they came back from commercial and Steve Martin said something to the effect of,

"It's the neatest thing backstage - the Teamsters are helping Michael Moore into the trunk of his limo!"

He got uproarious laughter and applause. (Maybe the crowd wasn't totally clueless.) Martin did a great job, even giving our people a shout-out at the very end of the show.

Snidely

At the risk of setting off a hornets nest, I shall say this:

I watched the Oscars tonight. I needed a break and wanted some entertainment (today was a bad day) and I was fulfilled. IMHO, Steve Martin was hilarious! I would think that our troops would have also been tuned in for the entertainment and while riled at Michael Moore's pathetic tirade, mostly got laughs and distraction out of the event. Peter O'Toole's acceptance speech was the highlight.

My favorite bumper sticker during the Vietnam war was a peace sign with the words, "Footprint Of The Great American Chicken". CHURCHILL would roll over in his grave if he knew that his "Victory Sign" was being used by the Hollywood elite as a "Peace Sign". Semper Fi!!

I made a point of not watching the Oscars but, unfortunately, heard Michael Moore's disgusting spiel on the news. I don't think he expected the boos he got from some in the crowd.

Is there any way to get Moore, and others of his ilk, to Baghdad quickly? Then our troops can take them out when they take out So-dammed. That would suit me juuuuuust fine!!

People need to stand up and boycott what this sorry segment of society produces.

As far as Moore is concerned, he needs to be shipped over to Iraq and placed in the front lines.

The Oscars have never been my cup of tea. These people make millions of dollars for what they do, then need to have me pump them up while they get kudos for being the best at absolutly nothing worth celebrating.

Frankly, watching more than about five minutes of these shows and I need 55 gallon drum of calamine lotion.

Coincidentally, Governor Bill Owens of Colorado, signed concealed carry permit legislation and also state preemption of local gun laws on Friday which the legislature recently passed.

Up yours, Mr. "know nothing" Hollywood Producer...

Come on, someone, post! For our troops.

With absolute pleasure! God bless our Armed Forces! You guys and girls are appreciated by the vast majority of the ones you protect and serve more than words can express. I pray you all come home victorious, (which is a gimme since you're the best in the world), safe and soon!

I believe (a guess) that you would have been entertained by Steve Martin's comments tonight. They were precision on target munitions.

Hey, A new meaning for the "V" so-called peace sign

Legs in the air, come on in and f*ck me.

Pass it on.
