Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
To all who helped this get started, thank you!
Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Oh, God, Lautenberg giving every liberal talking point, tax cuts for the rich, blah blah blah
I had to switch to MSNBC. I'd rather eat dirt than watch Lautenberg.

I love it when a man stares down the whole press corp. GW, Rummy, Pete Pace, Gen. Franks, Lt. Gen. John Abizaird...I suspect every man and woman in the service would give the press the stare tonight.

Au revoir Sodomy

I am deeply saddened that Bush struck Saddam first and wiped him off the face of the planet, instead of negotiating for 2 more years so that we could get another 9/11 to hang around his neck.

Batchelor and Alexander coming on on WABC. Those guys used to just give me the creeps, but lately I find myself looking forward.
Except Paul is ill - have a sub named Monica, of all things.

Being rather new to FReep, could you please explain how "series" came to be common usage for "serious?"

Somebody needs to point out to the Democrats that God's waiting room is Sarasota, not the Senate cloakroom.

I believe it was the second day I was watching CNN, the reporters had their camera trained on somewhere between 10 & 15 Iraqi soldiers laying a wire across the road in Mosul under the Saddam dam over the Tigris. Above there were 2 Kurdis guards attending the entrance of the dam and also there were 3 or more Iraquis dressed in business suits. I could not tell whether the 2 Kurds were afraid or just being friendly, but it looked as though they were not in control. However CNN reporter left and I never heard anymore about it. Until later that day and either read about or heard about the threat to blow up a dam.

protesters, a members of the anti-war group 'Yoga for Peace' prays before her
arrest for blocking the entrance to the Transamerica Building in downtown
San Francisco as a protest against the war on Iraq (news - web sites), March

the nation's biggest defense contractors, who have offices in the building.

...threatening to use gasI went to Yahoo weather and checked out the wind direction forecast.
Tonight winds SE, 20-30 mph. Tomorrow winds SE to SW, 15-25 mph. And then, tomorrow night winds shift to WNW, 15-25 mph.
Front what has been reported about our point of attack, seems like tomorrow night would be a good time to cross that "imaginary red line".
