Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
To all who helped this get started, thank you!
Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Think the media's hearing from their customers, today? Wartime's no time for tabloid reporting. Old habits are hard to break.

Thanks for the david bloom live cam. I didn't know he was putting out live feed.
No sound, though. Does it have audio feed, too, sometimes?

No, no sound. They(at the site) tried several times earlier to broadcast, but apparently couldn't get sound. So, it seems he just kept the camera open, so we're getting a visual of the regular activity. (At least it is live -- but I'm not sure what I'm seeing since there are no talkingheads to explain it -- snicker.)

Just got up - what's a Beeb, etc?
To: Catspaw
Fourth time in the last three hours? Sounds like the last gasps of a dying regime.

Yes, I do believe that's what he said--four times in 24 hours, I do believe.
I keep wondering why Saddam hasn't tossed missles at Israel like he did in 1991. I'm very skeptical with the claim that Saddam doesn't have missles with that range. I just figure he's saving them for his last stand.
To: rintense
Yes, four times. Reporter says there are two signals...one for warning, a further one for imminent danger. Have suits right beside them if they hear the imminent danger warning, and also have a safe room to dash to if necessary. (This explains why he reports with gas mask but no suit. ED asked him to explain.)
