These peace people aren't very peaceful

First of all Id just like to say Im a 14 year old girl in the 9th grade, just starting high school. I wrote this myself.
I was right. These peace-people arent very peaceful. Today (Sunday, March 23, 2003,) I was out protesting with a sign that said, Thank you American troops and on the other side it side Keep America free for me. I also had an American flag and an American shirt. I was with my mother who also had a sign, American flag, and an American shirt. Most people were honking in support, but some were saying horrible things. One man called us Nazis! What ignorance! And one woman said, while looking at my mother, This war is wrong! I said, It would be wrong if we didnt. She walked away with angry mutters I could not hear. She was obviously not expecting a rebuttal from me. She thought I was going to be like the other kids that protest what their parents tell them to and dont know what their protesting. Well, let me tell you I know what Im protesting. Well let me get back to the point. My mother and I were crossing the street, and happened to be in the middle of the street, waiting for the light to change. I was holding my poster towards the street with the side that said, Thank you American troops. A man drove by in a grey hatch-back with his widow rolled down and said something bad to me. I said, U.S.A! And he drove by and through water from a water bottle on me, my sigh (that said Thank you American troops,) and my flag. I flipped him the bird (sorry I was really angry,) and saw peace bumper stickers all over his car. Ok, let me tell you all the things that are wrong with that. First of all, there were three guys on the other side of the street that he drove by that had a giant bed sheet that said we support Bush and the war and things like that. He was so much of a coward that he didnt say or throw anything at them (they were strong guys) but threw water at the little girl on the other side of the street when the guys werent looking (they had a video camera.) Second, I never said I was anti-war or pro-war. My sign just said, Thank you American troops. This guy is a coward, anti-American, ignorant, fool. If this guy would have just thought about what he was doing or have even read my sign, he wouldnt have done what he did. And anyways, did he really think that a little bit of water was going to stop me? He might as well have thrown flint and tinder at me, because all he did was get me angry and invoke my flames of patriotism. I WILL go back on the streets and exercise my freedom of expression and speech. It wouldnt have mattered if he had shot me, because if he had shot at me, he would have wounded my body, not my spirit or what I believe in. I believe in freedom, my president, and my country.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!
P.S.- Can some one please tell me why these anti-war people are so mad? And if they hate America so much, why dont they move to Canada or something?

Liberals seem to be cowards for the most part. Each time I think of the anti-war crowd I picture Ira Einhorn (who murdered his girl friend). I think many liberal men are over-bearing wife beaters. I'm sure most of them feel very small and impotent and try to compensate. Just my feeling about the wife beating bed wetting maggot infested losers but I may be biased.

Interesting, isn't it, that there have been reports of numerous arrests at the anti-war rallies, but non reported at the pro-American rallies. This gives an interesting picture of the quality of character on both sides.

You go girl!
You do us proud.
My 5 & 3 year olds run around the house singing, "Time to Bomb Saddam!"
I hope they turn out like you.
(Even moms will forgive if you flip the bird when attacked)

Your family must be very proud of you. I know I am. The "peace" protestors, for the most part, aren't against the war. They're just against America. I also wonder why they want to live somewhere they can't seem to stand. I can only surmise that they know there isn't anywhere else that would allow them the freedoms we have but don't want to admit it. The sad thing is that this is the only way some of them will ever feel important. Keep up the good work!

Can some one please tell me why these anti-war people are so mad? And if they hate America so much, why dont they move to Canada or something? You answered it yourself. They are cowards, intellectually and factually. Because they are intellectual cowards they desperately need other people to validate their opinions. They are mad because you don't agree with them, and they wont leave this country because they know it's safer here then anyplace else.

Why are they so mad?
They have chosen to align themselves with a cause, a belief, that in this case, doesnt really make sense.
But they cannot break faith with the belief, because to do so would completely destroy the credibility of their arguement,
which they KNOW doesnt apply to this particular situation.
As Jesus once said
"the poor, will always be with you"
What he forgot to say
"and so will the willfully ignorant & self-blinded!"

Thank you for standing up for the troops and this country. I was at a pro-America rally in my hometown this weekend a saw couple of similar incidents. No water throwing - but a couple people flipping the finger and cursing our group with signs supporting the troops, the USA, and President Bush. You are learning and will learn that there are many on the Left (like many peaceniks) that are motivated by hate. They have a hate for independence, self-reliance, and tradition. They honestly feel that those who support the country and troops are evil.
It is sad and even more sad when you see how someone would stoop to such an attack like throwing water on you. But, take heart. There are many in this country who agree with your sign and sentiment, support what you're doing and that your positive support made their negative attitude frustrate them to such an extent.
You did good. Thanks.

I've met some nice liberals. But many liberals are intolerant (except to each other) and biased, closed minded, petty and cowardly. I'm sorry you ran into an especially mean one.

Thank You, Miss, for your common decency, which seems to be less common than in times past.
I believe that many people's attitudes were forever poisoned by Vietnam, and the overwhelming success that the Communists had in their propaganda efforts. They succeeded in creating psychological impairments in a large percentage of the American populace to the effect that "War is Bad", "We conduct War, "We are Bad". This remains today, and has, in fact, been passed down to following generations.
After the conflict in S.E Asia was abandoned by America, the terrible abuses of the ensuing Communist governments met with complete silence from the ever-so-concerned anti-war movement.
Please always remember what George Orwell said:
"We sleep safe in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm."
They are worthy of our gratitude.

numerous arrests at the anti-war rallies, but non reported at the pro-American rallies That is obviously a nonsensical statement. There can be no fighting that can occasion an arrest unless there is a conflict, i.e. and anti and pro person arguing and it gets out of hand. It takes two to make a fight.
Now if the police are arresting anti-war people for demonstrating without any fights, something else is very wrong.
I, personally have seen no violence and no arrests at any rally in my area, Kansas City.
