Why the sanatization? (MUSLIM who committed the terrorist act at Camp Pennsylvania.)

As predicted by many on this forum last night, the terrorist who was aprehended after killing one US soldier and injuring many more with a grenade attack on commanding officer's tent no longer is being identified as Muslim.

Excuse me - but they have now published his name - identifiable easily as a Muslim name. Why must we endure this sanatization of the news by the PC police? Why must GW encourage such activities?

I actually emailed several friends and family regarding this news event, with links to news sites with the story. In the time it took for them to read the email and check the link, the stories had all been edited with the "Muslim" part removed.

For those who are slow to the news, I looked like an idiot. Obviously, this doesn't help my feelings right now - but that's beside the point. The real issue is - a MUSLIM in the ranks of our military in fact pulled off a terrorist attack against our own soldiers. I honestly don't see any way to separate (or a reason too) these facts.

Just another sign that the PC crowd rules the media and the world.

MSNBC just reported that Asan Akbar did it because he opposed the war in Iraq and opposed the killing of Muslims. I guess it's OK for Saddam to kill hundreds of thousands of Muslims, though.

He was not 'disgruntled' about not being deployed, as first reported. He was opposed to the killing of Muslims."

This is the "Elephant in the Room" story that no one in the media is willing to touch. This PC garbage is way out of hand. Our country needs an intelligent public debate on this subject NOW.

ABC Live via the internet identified him as Muslim several times today. I've been tuned in all day, pretty fair coverage so far.

Maybe not every news outlet is doing so, but I just heard a report a couple of hours ago that gave his muslim name, and the fact that he is a sergeant, but the report went further to state that it is not known whether he changed his name after converting to Muslim.

You may want to watch Fox News, then pay attention.

KUWAIT (Reuters) - One U.S. soldier was killed and 15 were wounded in a grenade attack at a tented command center in Kuwait on Sunday, and the military said a U.S. serviceman was being held as a suspect.

A military source told Reuters the suspect was a Muslim, and apparently committed the attack out of anger over the war. At Camp Pennsylvania, the Kuwait base for the 1st Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, Brigade commander Col. Ben Hodges said that a grenade had been rolled into each of three tents at the command area.

Time magazine correspondent Jim Lacey, who witnessed the attack, described scenes of what he called chaos and carnage when the grenades exploded, saying soldiers thought they had come under Iraqi missile attack. . . .

Lacey identified the suspect as a sergeant from an engineering unit attached to the division, which was preparing to move into Iraq to join the invasion when the attack took place. He described the man as disgruntled and said he had been "acting strange."

A military source said the man was a Muslim who was upset by the U.S.- led invasion of Iraq, a Muslim country.

"He's a Muslim, and it seems he was just against the war," the source, who did not wish to be identified, said.

ABC Network just identified him as a muslim convert and gave his name. I think this is too big for immediate PC damage control, but stay tuned, the fix is in.

Oh, we cant let anyone know that he was a Muslim. That wouldn't be politically correct. After all, "Islam is the religion of peace." Just ask Saddam. Or Arafat. Or Hafez Assad (glad he's burning in hell...) Or Osama.

Fox correspondant with british accent said the same, he was muslim and against killing of muslims. I'm sorry but this country was not designed for "self censored" nor was it's military, and the sooner we have a national policy that reflects that, the sooner we will be on the road to eliminating this particular festering sore that will, if untreated, contribute further to our national unrest. JMHO.

It's the same treatment the govt gave the MUSLIM who shot up LAX last 4th of July. "Oh, he must have been upset about something." This soldier appears to have been trying to sabotage things from the moment he was deployed. These were the incidents he was being disciplined for in the first place. No two ways about it.
