In Israel, anti-war protesters feel lonely

TEL AVIV -- On a day when tens of thousands of people marched in cities around the world, no more than 40 people showed up to protest the war in Israel's largest city. The gathering was so small that honking from a passing car drowned them out.

After January elections, the liberal Labor Party lost seven seats in the Israeli parliament, and is down to 19. Its conservative rival, the ruling Likud Party, nearly doubled its number of seats.

Hmmm, do you suppose there's a lesson there, somewhere? Not for Labor, not for the Democrats.

Even with the hard reality Israel has suffered, there are still a few demonstrators. One states that he follows it like a religion. Well, I think there's still a Flat Earth Society out there somewhere, claiming that the roundness of the Earth is an illusion.
