Please delete all my posts before 37. I have very strong feelings based on close observation which are being misinterpreted, and I don't want to hurt people's feelings at this time.
To: Travis McGee
PUT UP OR SHUT UP - you claim you know all about these people, how about you tell us what you've done for the cause LATELY.
You don't give a G-D about whether or not this woman with the unit is abused - you've already been abusing her on this thread. I tell you what would make me happy - if goldbrickers like you would just shut up.
To: Travis McGee
I am not in the Army but from what I understand these support troops were ordered not to fire unless fired upon. Since you are not there and were not there when these troops were captured, I would suggest that you keep your less than complimentary comments to yourself.
Since you claim to have been a former Navy Seal, I would expect a lot more class from you than to degrade those who are presently on the battlefield and possibly POW's and/or KIA.

These support units are full of unfit soldiers, who joined the Army when welfare was cut off.Your entitled to live in whatever bizarre fantasy world you chose; but unless you have evidence of your claim which I doubt I will presume you are either a fool or worse a supporter of our enemy.

How about having the adm mod remove 37 too?

The quality of personnel in these support units has been a disaster waiting to happen for years. Yeah, the quality of personnel in those support units is such that the 3rd Infantry is stuck in Kuwait. Oh wait, they are damn close to Baghdad and the support units have allowed them to conduct one of the fastest military campaigns in history and they are running at better than 90% uptime. I don't know if you know anything about the military (you sure as hell aren't acting about it now) but that kind of uptime with the amount of miles racked up is amazing.

37 is the truth. Women have no business in combat units. Until 1991 it wasn't apparent that non-combat units could be taken & women taken prisoners. Surprise, they can and they will. Women have no business in combat.

I aplogize to everyone on this thread and to the families of the support troops presently in harm's way.
My anger should be directed at the PC military leadership which is sending support troops into an area full of hostile stay-behind enemy formations when those troops are given less than 100 rounds of practice ammunition for their rifles per year, and who are barely familiar with them, and who are in no way prepared for combat.
To: Black Agnes
I agree but is this the time to be discussing this?
To: Travis McGee
How about apologizing to those support units while your at it. Your hatred of them and your disgust with them was quite clear. I've seen less hatred for our troops in Iraq come out of the mouths of the so-called peace protesters.
To: Travis McGee
Even if there WERE some truth to what you posted (and I am not saying there is), how could you say this while they were being executed, raped and tortured? And you're ex-military? I am surprised...

Yes. A woman is prisoner of war by an Islamist nation. God go with her.
While I think Travis did a piss poor job of explaining himself I have to add that our armed forces are composed *mostly* of kids from lower income families who use it as a means to get money for college. This is why blacks are overrepresented as a % of our military as compared to their % in the population at large. The army--->college thing is good until we go to war. I know several black females who have used the military as a means to get an education and join the middle middle class. It's a shame that our PC Clintonistas allowed these fine young women to be put in serious harms way. I hope she's not somebody's mommy either :(. I hope that PC-ism Clintonistas haven't allowed our military to be degraded to the point of being cannon fodder :(.

I apologize to you and to everyone on this thread and all freepers and especially the families of our support troops in harm's way.
My remarks were stupid and incredibly badly timed. There will be time later to discuss the wisdom of sending under-trained support troops into chaotic combat areas with no front lines and enemy all around later, when this war is over.
To: Travis McGee
Your #50.
Thank you very much. I understand your anger.
To: Travis McGee
I agree with you regarding the role of women in combat, and the lack of wisdom in having lightly armed support troops in (still) hostile areas. My gripe is with your posts 15 and 22 during this time of war. We can discuss the role of a volunteer military and its possible problems later.

I'm glad my suspension is over. I was suspended for an hour for pasting links to images and videos of the POW's.
I still think the news needs to be out there. I won't be doing it, but I praise others who share the information.

Man - I don't know what has gotten to you. I spent 25+ years in support of war fighters. I have had my best friend die in my arms. I considered myself and those around me to be professional soldiers, every bit as good as the soldiers we supported. Now you come off with comments like this!
So long
