Sacramento rally backs invasion 3,000 show up to counter large-scale war protests in S.F.
Sacramento -- "Let's show those protesters in San Francisco that we support the troops!" a woman screamed into a megaphone outside the Capitol. Moments later Saturday, a sneering mention of the city gets a low-rumble "boooooo" from the crowd.

It's OK for communists to back peace protests but not Ok for Clear channel to promote pro Americans.

"I am in favor of freedom of speech. On the other hand, it feels like self- promotion to me to get him more listeners," said Joan Deppa, associate professor at Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. Want some French Brie cheese to go with that whine?

But the efforts by Clear Channel stations to promote the pro-troop rallies nationwide, then treat them as news events, concerns media analysts. ~sigh...why is it that the left wing media takes umbrage at a private radio station promoting the troops BUT they are silent about the TAX funded Pacifica being the defacto voice for the anti-war wackos?

Demonstrators yell to cars in front of the Capitol at the Rally for America in Sacramento that drew 3,000. The group's organizers say many showed up Saturday because they were probably disgusted

I was there and I'm glad the Chron covered the rally. Still, I have my criticisms of their coverage. As usual, they just didn't quite get it.
I've written an article about this that will be posted at Chronwatch on Monday and I'll post it on the FReep too.
The struggle for fair media coverage must continue!

Hats off to Sac area FReepers!
Be sure to head over to the other rally threads and check them out.
