These thugs fight by a different set of rules, and unless we are willing to get down and dirty (including taking out civilians), we are going to take more casualties

Absolutely. I am so tired of being held to a standard 18 levels higher than anyone else.

Why are they still able to function, make video tapes and get them to Al Jazeera? I say flatten that city.

The Iraqi Saddamites do fight by different, barbaric, rules.

But you are incorrect that our fighting forces should get down in the mud with them. The Coalition Forces have and will continue to fight this war with Honor and probably with an increased determination and resolve.

To suggest that our troops match the Republican Guard and Saddam's henchmen and fanatics atrocity for atrocity is ludicrous.

Very true. If my memory serves me correctly, GW I involved significant numbers of sorties flown against Iraqi Army units. They keep talking about shock and awe, but are we doing more than just blowing up command and control buildings at this point? Where's the carpet bombing of the Republican Guard and regular Iraqi Army units designed to KILL them, not talk them into surrendering?

Thugs have no rules to constrain them.

Until they are willing to play by our rules, we must be prepared to play by theirs.

You're exactly right. As our leadership (both civilian and military) is about to learn, fighting a politically corrrect war is suicidal. Time to roll up our sleeves and wipe them out, civilian casualties be damned. The lesson we were supposed to learn from Vietnam was that if you don't fight a war all-out, you don't fight it at all.

I do not agree. No purposeful assault on civilians.
