WASHINGTON, March 22 (UPI) -- Anti-war activists rallied Saturday on the fourth day of the U.S.-led war against Iraq, saying they wanted the Bush administration to hear them, while demonstrations supporting the military were planned nationwide.

Jeff Bale, a teacher in Washington, D.C., and a member of the International Socialist Organization, said most people in the United States oppose the war but not everyone had the confidence to join the protests -- although a CBS News-New York Times poll showed 76 percent of Americans supporting the war.

The Free Republic Network, a collection of Internet and conservative radio hosts, organized the midday rally in Federal Plaza. Authorities estimated about 2,500 turned out -- fewer than half as many people as the 5,000 who turned out Friday for an anti-war rally in the plaza. Other rallies in support of the troops were planned around the nation.

Here is one of those other rallies. Just click here for some photos from the 22 March rally in Brea CA:

The Free Republic Network, a collection of Internet and conservative radio hosts, organized the midday rally in Federal Plaza...

"...I want to make sure our troops don't just see them, but they see us," Free Republic organizer Andrew Burns told the crowd, the Chicago Tribune reported.

The gathering in Chicago was part of The Rally for America, which included more than 100 events nationwide planned for this weekend, said Scott Swett, chairman of the non-profit Free Republic Network.

"What we want to do is provide the opportunity for those who support the war in Iraq, to make their voices heard," Swett said. "How long we continue holding rallies depends on "how strongly people feel that the other side needs to be represented by going out into the street."

Not the pithiest of quotes, perhaps, but at least we made the UPI wire...

Why do the anti's out number the pro's 2 to 1 and these rallies?

I don't get it. Seventy per cent support Bush and the troops. Where are their voices?

Please send a quick e-mail to you local media.

It took me 15 minutes to e-mail 4 TV stations, Two papers and 4 news radio stations. Same e-mail cut and paste.

Some media outlets want you to use a form on their web-site.

You can be certain that they are getting mail from the LOUD minority.

We must oppose the Anarchist and Urban Terrorist.

Remember they have a Freedom to speak....

Not a Right to to be heard.

Dear TV Station

Thank you for the coverage of some of the Pro-troop rallies.

I would like to know why when reporting on the anti-war protestors you do not give the latest poll numbers on the support for the war?

Gallop had a poll at 75% supporting I believe. A New York Times/CBS News poll found that 70 percent of Americans approved of Bush's handling of the Iraq conflict, a USA Today/CNN Gallup poll published on Friday that put backing for a war waged without the explicit approval of the United Nations Security Council at 76 percent.

I drove 300 mi today from Washougal to Camp Murray/Fort Lewis to show support, my first rally.

I felt like we HAVE to make some noise for anyone to pay attention to the MAJORITY. I hope the troops will be encouraged that we not only support them, but support their mission. We had 100+ and we were a small rally in the state, Bellevue had much larger numbers.

All across the US pro troop/war rallies garnered numbers from 1 (a lone flag waver on the Mill Plain over pass) to 5,000 (5,000+ show support for U.S. at USA Stadium in Millington http://www.gomemphis.com/mca/america_at_war/article/0,1426,MCA_945_1832199,00.html.)

In Chicago, about 600 to 700 people rallied in support of the war at Federal Plaza.

America supports Bush, supports the War and support the Troops (in this mission). Even Tony Blair is getting much better support.

Thanks again

Your Name City, State Phone number

It turns out that Mr. Jeff Bale is a teacher at:

Lincoln Multicultural Middle School,3101 16th St., NW,Washington, DC 20010-3300 Phone: (202) 673-7345Fax: (202) 673-6643

So send your kids to Lincoln! Jeff Bales, the resident anti-American communist liar, needs fresh minds to mold.

I'm aware of that school. It has a lot of Hispanic kids. If they want, the school will teach Spanish-only kids in Spanish-only classes. Hence "multi-cultural." Sheesh, and I thought "multi-cultural" meant the cultures were supposed to meet, not create their own, new apartheid. Sigh.

See you tomorrow, guy. You heard we were bumped on FOX NEWS national, didn't you?

Most of those who support the war do not take to the streets. Most freepers are new to protests....I have bben to several, but I do not want to attend any of these as the PEACE folks arevery violent.

These demos waste the police resources that should be spent on more important things. These events take police away from their normal job activity. It costs alot of money for the taxpayer.

"Their goal is to obliterate the whole of Iraq."

Truth is in short supply these days.

Jim Bohannon advertised a Free Republic rally several times last night. A Democrat called the Bohannon show and called him a right winger. Maybe Bohannon is more politically balanced than several people think he is. A moderate. There are such things.

One of our speakers, Mr. Aziz Al-Taee, concluded his remarks on Fox news national primetime (around 9 p.m.) by inviting the audience to come to the Lincoln Memorial tomorrow.

Mr. Aziz Al-taee is a fine American, a fine Iraqi, and a fine member of the human race.
