I was watching FOX at about 655 am and the black guy who is part of their morning group (I don't watch the morning show so I don't know who he is), blurted out that 4 Americans had been killed.

What stunned me was the tone of his voice and the appearance on his face seemed to be almost happy. I hate to say that, because I don't know the guy, but I was really taken aback by his statement. The gal on the morning show shut him up very quickly.

Did anybody else see this ... and did you have the same reaction ...??

To be fair, even Fox News' Tony Snow is a little clueless. This morning, I heard him trying to launch A-10 Warthogs off of the USS Constellation. :-)

Tony: "And here we see our video feed of one of the Warthogs you've been describing, General, about to take off from the USS Constellation."

Retired military color commentator: "Um, er, well,.....I think it's from somwhere else, Tony....."

It is quite remarkable, when one thinks about the daily casualty rates in korea, vietnam, and most of all wwII (think omaha beach), that the press and a general can quibble over this. It is nothing short of amazing that this country can conduct war with such low casualty numbers (even assuming the special ops kia's aren't reported).
