Ya just gotta love a pretty gal sporting a Dragunov.
With the right ammo, capable of 1000 meter center of mass man-sized shots. Even with broken-up machine gun ammo, capable of well-placed center of mass hits at 400 meters plus. Still in production in the former USSR and China.

Thanks for the info. I've shot the 30-06 at 500 yards, target was bigger than human COM, but that was with peep sights. 1000 yards would be wonderful. I don't think the AK's 7.62X39 can reach that far accurately. If I recall reading something by Cooper years ago, the effective accurate range of the 7.62X39 was more on the order of 300-400 yards while that same article gave both the .308 and the 30-06 about an 800 yard effective range. I don't recall what the effective range of the .223 was, but I have seen them at 600 yard matches. They were accurate, though I'm not sure how much zip the projectile has at that point. I'm pulling this from my old, weak memory so use the appropriate grain of salt. :)

Shell casings fall from a U.S. AH-1W Super Cobra helicopter as it fires on Iraqi positions in Umm Qasr, in southern Iraq, on March 22.
British soldiers survey damage at an Iraqi position March 22 as the bodies of two Iraqi soldiers lay in a trench next to a white flag after the British assault on the Al-Faw peninsula in southern Iraq.
