The stories of people surrendering are both heart-breaking and heartwarming. Heartwarming from how they have been treated by the troops - heartbreaking to think that a war was needed for them to feel free in their own country.
To: MadIvan
I look forward to the free Iraqi people finally able to tell their stories.
Makes me want to scream every time I hear the protesters say in anguish, "People will die!!"
To: birdwoman
who is showing it? Fox said they were returning to regular programming at 4pm??? What is up with that?
To: vannrox
You're right. I hope we don't ever see that much shock and awe.
To: Happygal
Many of the Iraqi armed forces have been starved of food and supplies; they are more likely to get kind treatment from the Allies than their own commanders.
This is truly a peculiar kind of war, where the Americans and British are more concerned about the welfare of Iraqis than the Iraqi regime itself. But this peculiarity reinforces the rightness of the cause.
Love, Ivan

RE MOAB: Check it out, but I think we saw where a "BUFF" B-52 or a B-1 could be rigged to tote one of these babies.
Since they are satilite / GPS guided, they can let them loose from much higher altitudes.
I'm not too sure but what we may have seen at least one tonight - it was hard to tell a 1000 lb. JDAM 600 yards away from a MOAB three miles away from that camera angle. But the "mushroom" fire /ring-cloud pattern would be consistant with a near-surface detonation like the Daisy Cutter or MOAB. Whatever they were, they sure got some attention!

Cnn searching for civilians........
Don't it make you want to puke!

FOX just reported that US and Mexican autorities are looking for 6 Iraqis believed to have toxic chemicals. Said they are possibly in Mexico or Southern US.
Hoping they catch them. I'm in AZ.
To: rs79bm
I thought CNN was kicked out of Baghdad. Makes their search harder. :)
To: countrydummy
Carl Cameron on now. Re the 6 Iraqis...toxic chemicals require temp. control meaning possibly radiological or chemical. Possibly brought in by coyotes. Info scant and classified.
Great.

Re the "20 Story buildings" dwarfed by the BOOMies;
As soon as the sireins stared and the triple-A started going up, I got up, started jumping up and down in front of the TV, (scared the dogs) bellowing: "MO-AB!! MO-AB!!"...
And then, as a 20-story building was dwarfed by a towering, blinding, thundering ball of volcanic Hell's-breath about a mile behind it...
"YYYYEEEEESSS!!!"
"THank YOOOO for 9/11, you *BLEEPing-BLEEP-BLEEP....(etc.)"
It's a good thing the Missuz wasn't home!
(scared the cat, too...)
I can't remember the last time I went so "Ape".
Don't Football Fans get like that during the Super Bowl sometimes?

Coyotes bring illegals across the desert for money. Sometimes they abandon them in the desert. They are scum of the worst kind.
To: valleygal
Yeah I heard it. Makes me sick! We do need to guard our borders much better! They are going to try and God forbide, I am afraid they will pull off some terrorists attacks here, God help them!
