IRAQI Surrender Doctrine. 17 surrender before hostility begins = Preemptive Surrender. 100's surrender during opening hours of hostility = Tactical Surrender. 1000's surrender upon contact with allied forces = Strategic surrender. They learned it all from their french trainers.

Skinny, reedy boys who appeared to be still in their teens complied. and
One little boy, who had chocolate melted all over his face after a soldier gave him some treats from his ration kit, kept pointing at the sky, saying ``Ameriki, Ameriki.''
These poor people.

No. In this case they learned it all from years of oppression. You cannot fight when you have not been fed.

Just before the start of Gulf War I..the US war plan was shown to an Israeli general...he had one criticism....we had too many hospital beds and not enough POW compounds...he was right..

"These poor people." Yeah, these are just regular people who suffer at the hands of their tyrant leaders who use them for cannon fodder. I'm really glad Tommy Franks has the foresight to give them a chance to surrender peacefully rather than pound them into the ground.

This makes absolutely no sense. According to the liberals, the Iraqi people love Saddam, who recently won re-election with 100% of the vote.

One group of Iraq soldiers alongside a road waved a white flag and their raised hands, trying to flag down a group of journalists so they could surrender. This is the group, and it looks like they have their commander's hands tied behind his back.

One little boy, who had chocolate melted all over his face after a soldier gave him some treats from his ration kit, kept pointing at the sky, saying ``Ameriki, Ameriki.'' This is such a typically American exchange -- candy to little kids. I don't know whether other armies do this sort of thing or not, but it certainly demonstrates how Americans treat non-combatants.

...who recently won re-election with 100% of the vote.Baloney. More like 150% of the vote! ;^)

If our troops can make a good enough impression on the kids, perhaps there will be future generations of Muslims who do not hate America?

The Iraqis would much rather be prisoners of the Americans than "free" (cough, cough) under Hussein. They're probably thanking their lucky stars today that they could surrender before the Iraqi Republican Guard could shoot them in the back!

"They learned it all from their french trainers. " <P. Would YOU fight for saddam? They aren't cowards, just smart.

...some even tried to give themselves up to Western journalists...
Heck, those are the smart ones!
They probably heard about the Iraqis who surrendered to Italian journalists in Gulf War I.
Hmmm...surrender to US Marines and get some Meals-Ready-to Eat (improved since
Gulf War I)
VS.
surrender to Italian journalists and get some killer pasta?
It's a no-brainer.
(of course I'm being facetious...)
