What if Michael Moore wins the Oscar?
Self

Posted on 03/21/2003 12:00:01 AM PST by L.A.Justice

What if Michael Moore wins the Oscar on Sunday for his documentary? He might want to say some nasty things about US and Prez Bush...How would the audience react to his acceptance speech in the Kodak Theater? Standing ovations? Would anyone walk out after feeling disgusted by Michael Moore's comments?

Who cares what he says? Is anyone listening to him; except for the FAR left and those who give a sympathy laugh because they feel sorry for the fat guy?

I hope he does win, than he will have to explain all the lies he tells about guns.

If he does, it means the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will be about a relevant as the UN Security Council.

Maybe he'll just explode when he goes on stage to accept the award.
That would be a statement.

It's a shame we can't detach Hollywood from the rest of the continent and make it its own island in the Pacific Ocean. They we'd just have to make sure that North Korea had a missile that would hit it. Okay, I shouldn't have said that, but these people truly disgust me. I think they know that if their protection were left to people like Clinton and Gore for about twenty years, most of them would be desroyed by outsiders. They attack conservatives and give all manner of aid and comfort to America's enemies, but they know that it isn't Clintonism that keeps them safe at night.

It Didn't Start Last Night

Is his new movie any good? When I saw his first movie umpteen years ago I found it enjoyable. It was also quite obvious at that time that he was a real nasty piece of work. It's really easy to shove a mike in somebody's face, ask a cruel question and - voila! (are French words still permitted on this site?) - the interviewee appears to be a retard or troglodyte (sp?). I'd probably hate it now.
Anyway . . . even though I hate that fat windbag, it's still possible he could make a good movie.

If Jimmy Carter can win the Nobel Peace Prize, then Michael Moore can win the Oscar.

It shows you what they are worth.

Michael Moore winning an Oscar is like Jeemy Carter winning a Nobel Peace Prize; it is a political statement that, unbeknownst too those handing out the awards, diminishes them and the awards. You say it can't happen, but I can remember when people had respect for Harvard students.

Try to resist any impulse to post about these "celebrities".

If Moore wins it will make that useless award more useless. Of course I wouldn't turn one down.

Moore used many facts to produce his first "Rodger and Me" but in "Bowling For Columbine" he avoids real facts and makes most of them up. See this;

What if? Well it will simply reinforce everything I've come to expect from the Academy.

Moore is the most disgusting, hateful, and truly evil political commentator in this country today. I don't say this because he is of the Left. There are people on the Left who maintain even modicums of respect while attacking their enemies. Moore is just beyond the pale (there is no entity on the right given the respect by the establishment that this neo Stalinist is shown). Moore is the David Duke of the Left. He even privatley sickens liberals with his bile. If he does win- it will make even the most conservative critique of Hollywood look tame.

Of course he is going to win. Personally, I thing Dubya is about to stick it to hollywood by programming his "Shock & Awe" against the awards, assuring a low rating.

Lumpy Riefenstahl doesn't stand good odds to win. Voters must see all documentaries in competition. Additionally, many voters are aware that his film is a work of fictional propaganda, not a documentary. Could "This Is Spinal Tap" have been elligible?

What if Michael Moore wins the Oscar on Sunday for his documentary?

That will be more a reflection on the Oscars than on Michael Moore (just like Arafat's winning of the peace prize was more a reflection on the prize than on him)

Who cares if he wins! The oscars are TRIVIAL, and don't deserve anyones even casual attention during this time of war. The oscars have long since degenerated into a liberal butt kissing orgy, and should be ignored as part of a hollywood boycott. Let moore win, after all, he'd be a perfect choice to represent the scum that hollywood stands for!

Would anyone walk out after feeling disgusted by Michael Moore's comments?
Or perhaps by The Hippo itself?
