BTW, if you don't mind, how did you manage to become so conversant in these details? I am seriously impressed. FWIW, I don't know sh!t about the details, or even the general makeup of the armed force groups. Just generally enjoy learning details as events unfold (the devil IS in the details)

Fox: 2 large explosions hit center of the city. Those two were clearly heard on the webcam. I didn't hear the cable broadcast.

God, the fact that Basrah was encircled within 36-hours of entry should be enough for me to believe that this is over.

Iraqis are not Americans. We are masters at pretending we're dead. The Iraqis are just plain dead, dude.

Sorry man, we part ways. My cousin promised me a telephone call from Baghdad on Monday. I expect his call.

I haven't followed the war since 7:30 am CST. Will somebody please summarize it for me?

2 Heroic Marines died in combat today, one shot in the stomach. (May God bless their families and friends)

Basra, the 2nd largest Iraqi city, was taken earlier today, along with two other cities (Um Qsr sp?, a port city); fighting was up in Kirkuk (northern Iraq); allegedly WMD were found in undisclosed location, however, I haven't seen this comfirmed; shock and awe started at about 12:15 p.m. EST (I think that's when it was), which went on for 1 1/2 hours, I heard Shep say, earlier, I believe. All's been pretty quiet for the past couple of hours, except for just now, when some more bombing has occurred.....I'm sure others can fill you in better than I.

Australian naval frigate HMAS ANZAC fires her 5' Mk 45 gun during shelling of Iraqi defensive positions as British royal marines landed on the Al Faw peninsula, March 21, 2003. Australia's air, land and sea forces have attacked Iraqi forces over the past 24 hours. The Chief of the Defence Force, General Peter Cosgrove, says special forces soldiers are undertaking reconnaissance missions, and have been involved in a number of skirmishes

The fact that lights are on in Baghdad just speaks "we own you, bitch."

Be confident.

Are those little "rumbles" explosions, or just wind against the mic?

The microphone is gained up to within an inch of it's life, and there is a ton of compression artifacting. So this means it could be wind or it could be rumbles ... either one.
