URGENT MESSAGE TO D.C. AREA FREEPERS AND LURKERS: YOUR HELP NEEDED THIS SUNDAY 3/23
D.C. Chapter ^

If you live in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, your help is needed this Sunday at the Lincoln Memorial. The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic is holding a rally there to support our troops fighting overseas in Iraq and elsewhere as the war on terror continues.
You have probably seen the temper tantrums thrown by the "anti-war" crowd in several large cities today. These have been orchestrated by the far left to disrupt our lives, hinder the war effort and hurt morale at home and abroad.
We cannot let those actions go unanswered and let that be the image of American sentiment seen by our troops overseas. To counter that image, you need to sacrifice a few hours this Sunday afternoon and bring your patriotic self to the rally at the Lincoln Memorial.
Make no mistake--the media will be there. We've already received many queries from the press about the rally wanting to know how many people will be there to support the troops. Believe it or not, there are America-loving people in the media who would be thrilled to cover a large patriotic rally in our nation's capital. Some of them are former military who know what it means to the troops when all they see are "anti-war" rallies in the news.
For the troops to see a large crowd on Sunday, it will require you to cancel your plans for that afternoon and come to the rally for a few hours.
Bring your families, tell your friends and co-workers, spam your e-mail chains. The members of the D.C. Chapter have done everything we can to make this rally one the troops can be proud of. The only thing we can't do is bus people in or pick you up at your door.
We'll be out on Saturday handing out leaflets to people informing them about the rally. We don't have an advertising budget--we have to spread the word on a one-to-one basis.
That's why we need your help. We need you there on Sunday. And we need your help spreading the word about the rally the next two days.
It's not for the benefit of the chapter. We're tired and we're tapped out financially. After organizing four rallies and numerous demonstrations and counterprotests since September, 2001 in support of America and our troops, we're beat. But we're pushing ahead because we believe the troops deserve, at the very least, a strong public show of support as they go into harm's way. Please come to the Lincoln Memorial this Sunday. It's important.
Details about the rally can be found by clicking here.
Lurkers can e-mail me at kristinn@verizon.net with any questions or comments.

I am afraid the protests this Sunday will include many
Vietnam veterans to include nurses. Stand back and let them pass. They plan to move from one memorial to the next. They have that right. I was asked and declined.
They wanted veterans to wear medals and awards they have.
One nurse raised funds for the nurse memorial in DC. Just allow them space. Please.

Thanks to those of you there in DC for all you do to keep the flames of liberty burning bright! Thanks for your tireless efforts to counter the left. Thanks for taking care of business in the Capital for all those of us in the rest of the country!
Keep up the good work!

We have a permit for our space at the Memorial. Peaceful people will have no problem. Those who try to disrupt our rally will have to answer to the Park Police.

My fellow DC Freepers,Click here to read the article that
the Harpers Ferry Panhandle Chapter will be handing out at
our rally Saturday in Martinsburg, WV:
SEATTLE - Large anti-war protests come with a hefty price tag Money is needed to rent or buy stages, sound systems, permits and portable toilets, and tabs often run as high as $200,000 per demonstration - much more than the average grassroots peace group will ever have in its coffers. So who is picking up the tab? "The major anti-U.S. government demonstrations are organized by people who have been around for a long time, particularly the Workers World Party, ...
and you know the rest Kristinn. It's a great article and I would highly recommend it for distribution. The printer-friendly version fits nicely on two sides of a single sheet of paper with a nice bit of spare room at the bottom to insert WWW.FREEREPUBLIC.COM . Now go get 'em guys! PS: I'm not abandoning the DC Chapter - just recruiting support troops.

You may have already done this Kristinn, but if you haven't, try getting the help of a country music station in the D.C. area. They can help you advertise the event and maybe even come and do a remote. Country music people are mostly very patriotic (ask the Dixie Chicks). I contacted my local stations today for my rallie and they are helping me.

Thanks for the advice. Here's hoping you have a wonderful rally to support our men and women in the Armed Services, and especially those in harm's way. Prayers for all those who were involved in the helicopter crash and for their loved ones.

May God bless your efforts in Washington D.C.! We have had terrific media backing in Chicago. We are in way over our heads and seeing more support than we ever expected. God Bless America!!
