Is it just me or is this the slowest damned war ever. I thought by now shock and awe would be on the tube shocking and awing all of us. This war is pretty disappointing tv wise. Dont flame and lecture me,yeah, I don't want people killed, yadda yadda.

We've got to give the Iraqi division commanders time to surrender. Shock and Awe too fast and they'll all be dead before they can wave the white flag...

Yeah I know what you mean about it being slow. But IMHO it's a deliberate thing. The "shock and awe" that we've heard about may not be needed if we killed Saddam and some of his inner circle last night. But from personal experience, this thing can go from slow to supersonic with one radio call.

I am sorry to tell you that wars usually do not end in just 24 hours.

The angles and lighting are not perfect, the cinematography second rate? - Those are real sons and daughters out there, not actors for your amusement.

It took the Germans 21 days to reach the English Channel in their invasion of France in 1941, and 42 days for the French to surrender.
I think if that invasion was covered with precisely the same technology and number of channels and media we have today, THAT would seem slow, too.
And that was one of the ultimate examples of "Blitzkrieg" (Shock and Awe = Blitzkrieg, but for obvious PR reasons you can't call it that; the US military has tried about 20 different euphamisms for Blitzkrieg in the last 20 years. Oddly, the foremost practicioner of Blitzkrieg since WWII has been the Israelis.)

You don't know what it was like for me as a kid. I had to watch five minutes of grainy footage each night to follow the Six Day War. Can you believe it! A war that actually lasted a FULL SIX days. Thank god you have wars that take place over the span of hours and not days.
To: cajungirl
Yeah, Americans were really stupid letting WWII go on for four years.
Like wow, that's like a long time, like, ya know?

Boy! Are you spoiled, or what? Back in the old days, it would take weeks and months and in the really, really old days, years and years to do what these great men and women have done in hours. Little Miss Instant Gratification! (Just kidding)
To: cajungirl
It certainly is a bucking the trend as far as wars go..... More of a "Wait & See" war than "Shock & Awe"...
