Is it just me or is this the slowest damned war ever. As opposed to WHAT?

Ashleigh Banfield was heard to say to Shep Smith - take me, I'm yours...."Take me to your rape room!"

Please explain your picture...

That would be my guess. Some ex-general who would have court marshaled a soldier for blabbing to the TV what they are paid as "experts" to blab themselves.

It took the Germans 21 days to reach the English Channel in their invasion of France in 1941, and 42 days for the French to surrender.
I think if that invasion was covered with precisely the same technology and number of channels and media we have today, THAT would seem slow, too.
And that was one of the ultimate examples of "Blitzkrieg" (Shock and Awe = Blitzkrieg, but for obvious PR reasons you can't call it that; the US military has tried about 20 different euphamisms for Blitzkrieg in the last 20 years. Oddly, the foremost practicioner of Blitzkrieg since WWII has been the Israelis.)

"or perhaps he'd sustained a heavy psychological blow, like death of a son."
As amazing as this seems to us, I don't think he would blink an eye at that.

I'll tell her. What's her name?
To: Terry Mross
Tommy Franks shut down the media today because of danger to the troops. I like waiting until it's safe for our guys.

It would be good if all surrendered and no one had to die in this war. How much better off the Iraqi's would be. What a slap in the face to France a full surrender with very few casualties would be.
To: kattracks
I wonder if this report has caused the demise of any Republican Guard commanders yet ? Saddam might cap some of his own commanders that had no intention of surrender just because we leaked this bogus info.
Great technique.

What a horrible thing to say. OK, fine, I was thinking it too.

Heard a former Colonel say on IMUS say "Our perspective is looking at a landscape through a soda straw".

"Is it just me or is this the slowest damned war ever."
Which WAR do you recall being faster?
Serbia (clinton distraction war)
Gulf War I?
Panama (invading a one-hex country with a largely pro-US populace with a huge US military infrastructure already present for us)
Grenada? Maybe, if you think it is a fair comparison
Vietnam?
Korea?
WWII pacific or europe?

have no idea. the worst thing that anyone could do is point out exactly which of thousands of statements made by reporters is the one that shouldn't have been made.
