I believe in supporting socialists when they do something right, and criticizing them when they do something wrong. If I can house train my puppy that way then maybe socialists can be trained too.

Why won't Canada fight ?

The son of former Liberal Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau is in Baghdad making a film. Canada's military involvement would present a risk to the son of Liberal Prime Minister Jean Chretien's mentor. In short, Canadians are being made to look like cowards to the world so Trudeau's son won't have his film-making career harmed.

I think September 11 was Blair's epiphany. He has unswervingly stood with the US ever since, despite the risk to his political career. Rush Limbaugh yesterday commented that there are two profiles in courage which have emerged over the last 18 months--Bush and Blair. He believes that Blair supports our actions for two reasons--First, because it is the moral and correct thing to do. It is a job which must be done. Secondly, Blair understands and respects what the United States stands for in the world.

I remember that on Sept. 11 or the day after, Bush met with Tony Blair and later remarked in his televised address from the White House, that the US has no truer friend than Great Britain. It turns out that the true friend has been Tony Blair.

Strange that Keir Hardie's real opinions should be so little known by British socialists. We have before us a pamphlet containing reprints of three articles written by Keir Hardie in 1910, and entitled: Karl Marx: The Man and His Message. This pamphlet shows how absurd are the stories that Keir Hardie ignored or was opposed to the Marxian doctrine, or, as we have sometimes seen it said, he had never read a line of Marx.
