[history]
It is not considered Loose Lips if major news media are reporting it. It may be planned disinformation to confuse the enemy. Do not post information you have regarding our military that is not from major news sources, including personal knowledge you may have from military sources or personnel.

Thanks for the clarification. So if MSNBC says cruise missiles are being launched right now, it's ok right?

It may not be breaking news but it's certainly a message that needs to be seen and absorbed here. Maybe it'll stop a few hundred of the silly attacks on people who are doing nothing but passing along stories and events from major sources.

May I add a pertinent quote from the Rumsfeld news conference?
"There is no excuse for anyone revealing sensitive information that will put coalition forces at risk. It's essential that everybody with classfied details exercise discipline. At a time when we're poised for battle, any classified info leaked can result in death of troops. Don't do it"

This is so well put, that it deserves repeating and bumping:
It is not considered Loose Lips if major news media are reporting it. It may be planned disinformation to confuse the enemy. Do not post information you have regarding our military that is not from major news sources, including personal knowledge you may have from military sources or personal.

"...from military sources or personal."
So if my Uncle Tommy Franks tells me that U.S. forces are going to 'kick particular sh*t' out of the Republican Guard, I should just keep that under my hat?

If we get something from Debka, can we put it in "Broken News"? Yep; same thing with stuff from Stratfor.

So if Brian Williams of MSNBC just told his correspondent in Baghdad that you should be seeing some action in the next couple of hours, it's ok?
