FIFTEEN Iraqi soldiers have crossed the border into Kuwait and surrendered to US troops, a US officer said.
The 15 were handed over to Kuwaiti police after laying down their arms and giving up, said Captain Darrin Theriault, headquarters company commander of the First Brigade of the US Army's Third Infantry Division.
The surrenders came amid the 48-hour ultimatum given by President George W. Bush to Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein to leave his country or face a massive attack.
Bahrain reportedly offered sanctuary to Saddam today in a last-ditch bid to avert a US-led war.

Are these the same guys who surrendered a couple of weeks ago, but were sent back because the war hadn't started yet?

I hope it's them! I've been worried that they were "re-educated" when sent back.

Must have been the guys they sent out for pizza. Looks like it's gonna be a DiGiorno's night for the rest of 'em.

I wondered the same thing. Heard a report that when they were sent back across the border, they sat right there so if anyone came near them they could come right back across. One news report has them in the possession of Kuwaiti police!

Were you saving that up? No. Spur of the momment. :-)

We might see a couple of million Iraqis crossing the border to surrender or for safety.
If I was an Iraqi, my family and I would be heading for the nearest border, with as many white flags as we could carry.

Fox just reported that they were accepted and turn over to Kuwaiti Police. They were not turned away this time.

I read a report somewhere that Iraqi's will be infected with smallpox and the plague and then surrender with the attempt of infecting the US military.

Fox says there is a conflict on how many actually surrendered. They say... they have heard it was only 3 or 4 at this time.
I'd say it will be hard for to keep a count here shortly!

Good move let the Kuwaitis deal with it, we dont need the weight slowing us down.
