Calm down and read post #59. Had you read the article (link provided at the top of the post), you might have realized that the quote was an exaggeration, albeit I'd wager not far from the truth.

I did read post 59. I also read the article, which you might have realized had you read my first post to this thread saying so. You, sir, passed the quote off as genuine. If it was an exaggeration, you should have put it in your first post, not in the title as an attributed quote. Nothing about the way you did it suggested that your 'quote' was an 'exaggeration'. Rather a lame plea to draw attention to your thread.

Based on the responses, I believe most everyone else got it.

Except the people who emailed O'Reilly and made us look like fools, right? FReepers like to be taken seriously, and it is hard to be taken seriously as a group when some of its members lie to the others, who then go off half cocked based on the lie. You can keep your half-hearted apology too, and keep your 'exaggerations' along with it...JFK

You have indeed made an exellent point of avoiding embellishment and exaggerations; the Left has mastered this, especially with the myth of the 'Stolen' 2000 Election.

No, we definitely don't need to stoop to the same level as someone like Michael Moore or Les Payne, although the bottom line here is the less we hear from Cronkite and others no longer in the spotlight, the better.

Well, since you called teacher in on this one, I felt compelled to make a good faith effort toward a sincere apology. Yes, I did juice it up a bit in order to draw attention to Walter and his incontinence, but I never meant for you to make a bloody fool of yourself. I was hoping you had read the entire article and realized that my "lie" was not part of the author's piece. Please, please accept my wholehearted apology.

Thanks to the Admin Moderator for changing my "lie" and for not banning me for causing some of my fellow FReepers to look like bloody fools.
