[history]
Natalie Maines' comments about President Bush cost the Dixie Chicks the top spot on the Billboard country singles chart this week.
Natalie Maines, center, apologized for her anti-Bush remarks, but that hasn't stopped a Dixie Chicks backlash.
Airplay for Travelin' Soldier, which had hit No. 1 the previous week, dropped 15% last week. Nearly all the decline came late in the week after reports that Maines told a London concert audience, "We're ashamed the president of the United States is from Texas."

Bob Richards at WFMS-FM in Indianapolis says he's continuing to play the record as he was before the controversy. "So far, it has not been a major issue with our listeners," he says. "What I'm choosing to do is offer Natalie forgiveness." Fire his ass.

I wonder if payola is a factor in keeping them on the list at some stations.

I don't know about that, but this air head may learn not to slam the President

The chicks won't get less support from me than before (what could be less than none?) but now that I know who they are I gotta ask--is that Tammy Faye Baker in the middle?

I'm listening to Toby Keith and Charlie Daniels, myself. Ever since I heard that one of the ditsy chicks said Toby Keith's song was 'ignorant' I've known which side they are on.

Did anyone see the "mean" judge (Simon) on American Idol last night state that he thought the one young girl should replace "that singer from the Dixie Chicks"?

To: Mr. Bird
Yes, LOL, I thought that was great! It seems the audience did, too.

I knew there was a reason I liked him....I was pretty much floored, given the show's aversion to controversy. He must have been waiting for the opportunity to throw that in.

I suppose they would rather have President Clintoon who supposedly lost the nuke codes. They probably never gave him the nuke codes, or if they did it was the wrong numbers. I ask you, would you trust the man who can't keep his pants zipped with nuke codes?

DANGER:
Note what the manger said: """But Bob Richards at WFMS-FM in Indianapolis says he's continuing to play the record as he was before the controversy. "So far, it has not been a major issue with our listeners," he says."""
In other words, its not our listeners its someone else. They are circling the waggons and trying to marginalize the protests. This is right out of a DNC playbook.
I just an trying to figure out if Sony toold the manager to fix this or the manager called sony for help.
I want that list of emails used by the dc manager to hit the radio stations. These suits have made it personal. First and insult, then an insulting appology done to same ecconomic viability, and now MORE insults. These idiots must have serious foot in mouth disease.
I will buy Luiziane from now on. LIPTON IS FORBIDDEN.
Now does anyone know anyone in power at subway? they use the raspberry iced tea from lipton.
