Miss Maple, I respect your calm and level headed decision. I too am careful to comment only on things I personally have seen and heard. I can assure you that today on Oprah, she herself knows she made a huge mistake. Both sides of the issue are worked up as we approach 23 hours from the deadline, and right or wrong, she is already getting backlash from her decision to run today's show.

Daschle, is he really a senator? Hes a joke and I wish he would make that comment the moment Pres Bush says "AMERICA is at war" and sue his ass off for sedition. I cant wait! Someone has to step up to the plate and nail some of these idiots in a time of war.and let them go get a lawyer.

My point exactly. I watched and recorded the show. I would never protest something I hadn't seen.

That's all I ask. Know what you are talking about before you fly off the handle and attack something.

Whenever I hear any of our so called Americans whine and complain and blame GW instead of the mass murder Saddam. I visualize them to look like a morph between them and ChIraq.

I wasn't in the bathroom. I have now posted twice that Michael Moore is a moron and his video was gross propoganda.

But as shocking and sickening as it was, we did sell weapons to Iraq, we did give arms to the Contras. We have supported dictators because they were our dictators. But we are NOT responsible for 9-11. It was evil people who want to see Americans dead and back in the stone age who did that.

I need to see how the enemy thinks. When the school girl in the middle east said that the terrorists had to do 9-11 so we would listen to them, even though she is wrong, I am glad I heard her point of view.

It is important to know the enemy. It's important to know the other side. It doesn't make me any less patriotic, it just makes me educated.

I see and understand your point about wanting to see both sides and decide for yourself. However, I am weary and fully distrusting (I'll be honest) of the Arab world in general. There, I said it! I am tired of the propaganda which proports that in order to live in a free society, we must equalize every faith and belief, but Christian, God-fearing people always get portrayed as intolerant.

Thank you for your thoughtful input.

While the Michael Moore segment was way over the top, the journalist and author were explaining how the rest of the world see's us. They didn't declare that we were at fault, but that other countries blame us for everything and why.

Normally we are on the same wave length BUT this time I cannot believe that you know who Michael Moore represents. By his very presence, Oprah is giving him credibility, undeserved as it is. Don't even pretend to believe this was meant to be fair and balanced. oprah's true colors are showing.

I saw the same show you did. The time for this show has come and gone. What good did it do to portray America, Americans and Amercan soldiers in this way?

As far as I could see..there was no one on stage that was giving any opinions other than that that Oprah wanted portrayed. It was shameful..and if you have family or have ever had family that served in the U.S. of A Military, you would have been very upset with how they handled this whole show.

After the last couple of months..how could anyone not know how some foreign countries think and feel about us?

To run this show .. this close to war breaking out..was in bad taste..even for Oprah.

I too am not an Oprah fan however many of my neighbors and associates are. I've been fascinated at how uninformed the Oprah fans really are...whenever I ask them a specific question on a world issue...they always refer to something they 'heard' on Oprah. Of course...they are talking with their feelings as that is what Oprah caters too. It's sad really that so many women consider Oprah an educational show. These are the same associates who don't know who our elected officials are but ask them 'how they feel'about anything and they can talk for hours. I think it is wrong to attach Oprah's weight or looks...keep the comments on the Freeper High road please. Substance is fair game.

Damn! such vitriol. Still, it doesn't surprise me that Oprah gave him a forum. I read earlier today that in one of her recent programs she constantly referred to President Bush as a "cowboy".

I'm not fascinated with the fact that many, or most of, Oprah's fans that I have ecountered are "uninformed". It saddens me though, to think that these people give her the power to influence their decision making process, rather than investigating issues for themselves, and forming their own opinions.

Too many people give credence to what celebrities, (and politicians), say and do, because it is more convenient to fall in lockstep behind someone like Oprah, than to think for themselves. Case in point, how many authors have had their book sales increased, simply because Oprah reccommended them on her "list"? Being famous does not make one "enlightened", as many fans of Oprah, et. al. would have us believe.

(FWIW, I don't like oprah for many reasons, I am above attacking any one because of their weight or looks.)
