GENEVA - President Saddam Hussein wants to die in Iraq and will resist pressure from other Arab nations and the United States to go into exile, former Saudi oil minister and co-founder of OPEC Sheikh Ahmad Zaki al-Yamani said Sunday, AFP reported.
"The message (from Saddam) that I see in his television declarations is unequivocal. He wants to die in Iraq," Al-Yamani told the Swiss newspaper Dimanche in an interview.
"People that know him have told me that for Saddam life without power is not life," he added.
Kuwaiti State Minister for Foreign Affairs Mohamed al-Sabah had Wednesday described Saddam's exile as the "last chance" for Iraq to avoid a U.S.-led invasion of the country.
The idea of exile had initially been floated by the United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al-Nahyan, and U.S. President George W. Bush has said it would be "fine" if Saddam went into exile to avoid a U.S.-led war.
However, Al-Yamini said the United States can now no longer step back from a war with Iraq, adding military action could start during the final week in March, and by April 15 at the very latest.
He also described as "reliable" reports that Saddam was planning to repeat his strategy from the Persian Gulf War by setting fire to oil wells with explosives.

I hope this is true.
An exiled Saddam at liberty with billions of dollars and guaranteed security is NOT a good idea. His fortune dwarfs bin LAden's, and he can cause a lot of harm with his billiones.
We need to kill him.

"People that know him have told me that for Saddam life without power is not life," he added."Yeah, life is hardly worth living when you can't oppress, murder, and torture people. It's just so meaningless when people don't tremble in fear before you. What's it all about when you can't bluster on about meeting your enemies wherever there is air, water, and sky? Life's just too short to be a reasonable human being who actually cares about his land and people.

He declines exile, and will die because of his ego. This is justice.

Rumor has it that saddam is going to Paris to get a job as a contract consultant to the French. He is the mother of all cowards.
