Rivera is now a much older and smallish man than the days when he milked the mental health system for its tragedies and used day time TV as a human garbage can in which to shove lifes losers into his own personal profit.
After all, Geraldo helped pave the way for Gerry Springer as well as other low life media and TV prostitutes of the lower end of human nature.
Last evening and instead of the Capone Vault, Fox's # one resident Ego in Afganistan stood proudly on the former field of battle and also showed us the damage done by the Taliban in destoying the Budda figures which lasted for millenia. Fortunately for the human race, Geraldo's work will last only in his own mind.
While this was a valid point, the showmaster and circus barker also allowed his Fitchean and Fruedian Superego to transcend the normal TV set and invade homes tuned in. He was calling everyone "brother" and brought in his brother side kick for brotherly self promotion.
Let us hope that Fox and Roger Ailes keep his Ego in Afganistan and off the battlefield of Uraq.
Better yet, fire him when the war is over and signal the deathnel of the 90's and the liberal and trial lawyer extraveganza shows he has hosted over the years (he is not a "journalist").

What a life Geraldo Rivera has led. Like him or not, he's certainly a character. When I was President of my High School Class (almost 30 years ago!), we brought Geraldo to our school because he had just uncovered the terrible mental care system in New Jersey. He really did a good job and was very charasmatic (of course, all the girls had crushes on him!). After 9/11 he became a patriot, and I think he's done a very good job for Fox.

"After all, Geraldo helped pave the way for Gerry Springer as well as other low life media and TV prostitutes of the lower end of human nature." Actually Phil Donahue's original show began it's slide into a prurient forum before his retirement. First, the klansmen, then the strippers...however, you can blame Geraldo for capitilizing on this titillation factors.

<<<but I have to admit that I watched his show last night and in my HUMBLE opinion I thought it deserved a standing ovation.
I saw the show late last nite also. It was probably the only time I thought highly of this guy.
It is my wish that more shows would air showing the world what is being done in Afghanistan.
After the show I note that the absence of the rest of the media covering the rebuilding of Afghanistan is astounding. It is like if we don't cover it it is not happening.
This has got to be conspiracy by ommission.
I say Geraldo do more of these shows.

I agree that Geraldo has been good on tv with this war. He is kind to the troops and giving the guys a chance to be seen on the home television. Geraldo has had his share of screwups, unfortunately, just like the rest of us. Hopefully he's on the right path now.

Caveat Emptor..
We on the right also have "useful idiots" and I hardly suggest you are one.
This guy is pure ego, despite draping him in the red white and blue and all his friends and neighbors lost 9-11. He probably is fighting for his prime time life and hopefully Roger Ailes is just throwing the old guy a bone for old times sake.
Geraldo is a first class "Hey, I'm over here" kind of guy. I trust he never leaves Afganistan and donates some of his daytime fortune to the Afganis. Fat chance.

Sorry I deleted your private mail before even reading it. Did you vote for Ross Perot, and if so, just move on.
