What, oil isn't trading at a high-enough level for them?

I think you've hit on it. The protestors have oil futures call options that are about to expire.

When the balloon goes up, the wacko-leftist protesters will try shutting down lots of things (all related to the economy), probably including freeways.

I vote to just run over them when they try to block freeways....*silly, sly grin*...I'm tired of 'em... *wink* *just kidding*
(I'm not really this cold hearted, just so you know...but sometimes it's so tempting...you wonder what's going on in someone's mind when they stand in front of a moving vehicle of any sort--like the episode yesterday w/ the woman and the bulldozer--of course, I'm also in Boston where random stupid college students always walk out in front of traffic, thinking they rule the world or something, while I watch holding my breath as the drivers hit their brakes--so far I've never seen an accident, but I've heard plenty of gory stories about them being hit...)

Oh, believe me, they make people so mad (it happens up here from time to time) that there are middle-of-the-roaders (who don't really care what they're protesting about) that have threatened to run them over!
These people are nutty enough that that Darwin-award candidate yesterday will probably be an inspiration to them.

On most college campuses, pedestrians have the right of way in crosswalks. If they approach it, you have to stop.

Anti-War Protesters Raid London Oil Exchange

LONDON (Reuters) - Anti-war protesters broke into London's International Petroleum Exchange on Monday and halted business at Europe's largest oil futures trading hub.
Carrying banners such as "Oil fuels war" about 15 people evaded guards at the building in London's financial district, home to multi-billion-dollar trade in Brent crude oil futures.
"There is a lot of hooting and hollering and there have been a couple of altercations," a trader said.
Demonstrators said one or two of their number were taken to hospital after sustaining injuries in fights on the trading floor.
"We want to expose the links between the war economy and the oil economy," said Andy Thomas, a 35-year-old protester. "It is clear the U.S. has a strategic interest in controlling and releasing Iraqi oil reserves."
The exchange remained shut at 1515 GMT. The IPE declined comment except to confirm the closure.
The trading floor was evacuated after the raid, but police arrived soon afterwards carrying chain cutters. Anti-war groups also staged dramatic "die-ins" elsewhere in Britain on Monday, smearing themselves with fake blood and pretending to be dead at military bases and outside government offices.

Yes, that is true....in the city of Boston, the law states that pedestrians have the right-of-way, but that doesn't stop people from getting run over. These people literally run (or walk) out in front of traffic without paying any attention. I have almost been hit once when I started walking across on a red light and the light turned green; the guy hit the gas, then stomped on the break....scared me to death...
I've seen people walk out in front of traffic going atleast 40 mph or so, and walk so slowly that you'd think they were blind and deaf and had no clue that the cars were coming...I come from the mid-west, where we pay attention b/c cars are bigger and stronger than us. Plus, I'd say we are more polite; I try to keep from blocking traffic when at all possible. I've been known to wave cars on around a corner and just wait...

"It is clear the U.S. has a strategic interest in controlling and releasing Iraqi oil reserves." These people are such idiots! We want to control the Iraqi oil reserves like we do the Kuwaite and Saudi oil reserves, where our troups have been stationed for the last 12 years.

It is way past time for the Brits to wake up that they are in a war for their survival. These non peaceful thugs pretending to be for peace must be stopped.
Fina Oil which is owned by the France Whore$ probably paid for this thuggery. The French make about 20 to 40 Billion $'s year from Iraqi/Iran oil.

I think Michael Savage is right--our biggest security threat right now is within our borders.

Fifteen protestors stopped the trading? Fifteen? I can understand Reuters "we won't call them terrorists" writing this up as a front page story, but whoever failed in their security duties should be let go - today.
Couldn't those prevented from trading today have a legal case against these protestors?

I underestimated the annual value of just Iraqi oil to France. Iraqi oil for France is valued at 50 billion per year.
link"The $50 billion worth of oil contracts that France has with Iraq. In American eyes, that is why the French are so keen to avoid war."
NO MORE IRAQI OIL FOR FRENCH WHORES!
NO MORE IRAQI OIL FOR FRENCH WMDS THAT CAN KILL INNOCENT PEOPLE!

What do you want to bet they are connected to International A.N.S.W.E.R, or WWP?
