Support our Troops - Colorado Springs (updated pics)
16 Mar 2003 | SirChas

A guy next to me at the rally yesterday took pictures and put them on his website.

I'll put a few here but for the rest go to:

http://www.pridemarkservices.com

You will see a support our troops button at the bottom. Email this guy and see if we can get him to join Free Republic!

SirChas

Note that we were all standing on the same side of the street, so you can't see the complete crowd in most of the pics. There were at least 400 people there.

Somebody let MadIvan know we didn't forget him!!!

A good one with Pikes Peak in the background. That's about as American as you can get!!!

Be sure to visit the site for more pics.

Beautiful photos. The demonstrations supporting the president and our troops are so encouraging.

Yes it was, in a most favorable way. Remember we are home for:

USAF Academy

Peterson AFB

NORAD - Cheyenne Mountain

Space Command

Fort Carson (a BIG army base)

Homeland Security (Im not sure what part of it. New Stuff)

And a whole lot of proud vets!!!!

SirChas,

My family and I were there. In fact, in the first picture you posted, my wife is the woman across the street, between the two flags on the car.

We must have been standing fairly close to each other.

I was carrying a U.S. Army flag and wearing a shirt that said "Peace is Good, Freedom is Better" on the front and "FreeRepublic.com" on the back.

My estimates on crowd size were much higher than the 400 that has been widely reported. I would say closer to 1000.

It was a real rush seeing all of the support from the drivers-by.

I think it was Pikes Peak blvd. I'm not sure. (not real familiar with the streets around there)

We've been to Colorado Springs several times. If I could ever get my husband to move away from the sand and palmettos, it would be to Colorado and the Rockies (he was in Colorado Springs last week). He loves it out there. Lucky you to live there.

No, not for me. Didn't see anything organized for the Springs so I've made other plans.

I've seen nothing planned for the Springs. (except maybe digging out from under this snow.)
