Darlington Raceway Carolina Dodge Dealers 400 - TODAY!
Every driver who has strapped on a helmet and climbed behind the steering wheel has wanted to win at Darlington because the toughest is most desirable. For those few select drivers who have won races at the granddaddy of superspeedways, there is a priceless satisfaction in knowing they've conquered the unique egg-shaped oval nicknamed ...
"Too Tough To Tame."

How many Roush engines will fail today?? :^(
To: NormsRevenge
Can we lobby NASCAR to red-flag the race during the President's press conference?
To: NormsRevenge
BTTT!
To: Petronski
Hopefully Roush has his $h!t together today.
Amen to that...I was scared during Happy Hour yesterday when Bush and then Kenseth had problems. I'm glad they could fix Kenseth, but I wasn't able to watch the entire Happy Hour program yesterday? What happened with Bush's car?
Go MARK!!!

I absolutely love NASCAR but lets get a grip here.......
We're on the verge of war, with an important press conference in an hour or so. American, British and other military lives are at risk. So are the lives of the Iraqi people. So are the lives of the American people.
So how about we move this thread to the FR sports section?
Admin Moderator: If there isn't an FR sports section, it seems as though we need one to keep the fluff off the hard-news board. What do you think?
[getting into my asbestos suit now, hey that's sort of like a NASCAR driver's race suit!]

Any truth to the rumor that the Kenseth car runs on gigantic rechargeable battery packs?

Checking in. Good luck, everyone. Hope for a safe race.

This thread is viewed by quite a few NASCAR fans worldwide including many Armed Services members representing the US.
It is not intended to intrude on other very significant events, rather provide some levity and an online and very visible reminder of what we are about as Americans. We haven't forgotten or lost anything.
You asked , I flambeed, politely , I might add.
Enjoy the press conference and conjecturing.

I'm a big Bill Elliot fan.....but since he's on his way down as a top competitor I think I've settled on Kenseth as my next guy ro root for.
He drives a Ford but I reckon I can overlook that.

That's fine, I agree on the entertainment factor, many of the guys & gals serving right now are fans I'm sure.
Every so often JimRob tries to reinfoirce the purpose and message of FreeRepublic by asking us to respect his guidelines - such as only posting actual news articles in the news section and escpcially reserving Breaking News for meaningful news/activism articles. That's all I'm saying.
I'm serious about an FR sports section. That would seem to suit everyone's priorities. What do you think?
