I do hope we reconsider our position on establishing a homeland for the Kurds now that Turkey has rejected our offer.

This is going to make it tough for us, but better for the Kurds.

Use that $15 billion for payraises for our troops.

Plenty of choices: Turkey, France, Germany...

To our valiant Turkish friends,
I hope the vote in parliment felt good because the Turkish economy is going to be a casualty of the Iraq war. Hope that notion is really sinking in right now. Thanks for nothing.
Boycott France and Germany.

A good relationship would have been wonderful for the U.S. and Turkey.
However, Turkey chose public opinion over good sense (Yes, at times the two are incompatible).
I am sorry for the Turks and happy for the Kurds.
To: Mr. Mulliner
we don't need to go thru turkey, we have a foot hold in the talibans former home.
To: Mr. Mulliner
Consider this:
Every time we do business with muslims, we get knifed in the back. The Kurds, IMHO, will be no different. I wouldn't get too cozy with them. Muslim nations we build/help/rescue have historically turned on the US every time. It took a long time for Turkey to get around to screwing us, but they finally did.
I myself, would let the Kurds and Turks tear each other apart. Then we tear apart the 'winner'. Sounds barbaric, but look at who we're dealing with; barbarians. Our civilized Western mindset really hobbles us at times, especially when dealing with uncivilized peoples.
I don't believe the Kurds to truly be our friends. We are very expedient to each other, and that's all.
Never forget what we engineered in Iran, Afghanistan (1980's), Saudi Arabia, and now Turkey. Be very careful to whom we give guns and money to....we may very well see them again.
To: Mr. Mulliner
A scenario.....we have no access through Turkey so our main thrust is from the south. With Iraqi elements moved south to face us the north is left open. Turkey, with no real Iraqi force to oppose them AND NO US TROOPS to contend with, invades....who is to stop them? A handful of Kurdish fighters? Will US troops confront them? Is this wahat Turkey is really after?
