Let us emphasize how strange these protestors are: "She walked through the crowd saying 'They can't arrest me, they won't do (expletive) to me,' said Chandler. "To do that, to walk through a crowd of angry people, well she must be one hamburger short of a Happy Meal.'

End quote...

Kinda makes ya' shrug...don't it???

'Have You Forgotten?' lyrics

Verse
I hear people saying we don't need this war

I say there's some things worth fighting for

What about our freedom and this piece of ground

We didn't get to keep 'em by backing down

They say we don't realize the mess we're getting in

Before you start your preaching let me ask you this my friend

(sheryl crow wearing protest shirt at American Music Awards)

Chorus

Have you forgotten how it felt that day?

To see your homeland under fire

And her people blown away

Have you forgotten when those towers fell?

We had neighbors still inside going thru a living hell

And you say we shouldn't worry 'bout bin Laden

Have you forgotten?

Verse

They took all the footage off my T.V.

Said it's too disturbing for you and me

It'll just breed anger that's what the experts say

If it was up to me I'd show it everyday

Some say this country's just out looking for a fight

After 9/11 man I'd have to say that's right

Chorus

Have you forgotten how it felt that day?

To see your homeland under fire

And her people blown away

Have you forgotten when those towers fell?

We had neighbors still inside going thru a living hell

And you vow to get the ones behind bin Laden

Have you forgotten?

Bridge

I've been there with the soldiers

Who've gone away to war

And you can bet that they remember

Just what they're fighting for

Chorus 3

Have you forgotten all the people killed?

Some went down like heros in that Pennsylvania field

Have you forgotten about our Pentagon?

All the loved ones that we lost and those left to carry on

Don't you tell me not to worry about bin Laden

Have you forgotten?

Tag

Have you forgotten?

Have you forgotten?

In another development Wednesday, Jeff Collison, owner of the property the fence is on, went to the La Habra Police Station with Chandler and David Bisset, a Whittier resident who has contributed to the memorial. Collison wanted to lodge a formal complaint against the vandals.

He said he was told by police that he couldn't file the complaint because he was not the victim.

Maybe I didn't understand this. Could somebody explain this better? The owner of the property where the trespass happened isn't the victim? Then who is?

I hear people talkin' bad,
About the way we have to live here in this country,
Harpin' on the wars we fight,
An' gripin' 'bout the way things oughta be.
An' I don't mind 'em switchin' sides,
An' standin' up for things they believe in.
When they're runnin' down my country, man,
They're walkin' on the fightin' side of me.

Yeah, walkin' on the fightin' side of me.
Runnin' down the way of life,
Our fightin' men have fought and died to keep.
If you don't love it, leave it:
Let this song I'm singin' be a warnin' -
When you're runnin' down my country, man,
You're walkin' on the fightin' side of me.
I read about some squirrely guy,
Who claims, he just don't believe in fightin'.
An' I wonder just how long,
The rest of us can count on bein' free.
They love our milk an' honey,
But they preach about some other way of livin'.
When they're runnin' down my country, hoss,
They're walkin' on the fightin' side of me.
Yeah, walkin' on the fightin' side of me.
Runnin' down the way of life,
Our fightin' men have fought and died to keep.
If you don't love it, leave it:
Let this song I'm singin' be a warnin' -
If you're runnin' down my country, man,
You're walkin' on the fightin' side of me.

< tinfoil hat firmly in place >

It makes me wonder if this makeshift memorial would be the flashpoint for civil strife in this country.

Great post.

I just want to say I am proud of those on that streetcorner in California for taking it upon themselves and putting up and maintaining that memorial to 911, and then rebuilding it, twice as good, within 24 hours.

BRAVO.

An anti-war protestor wearing a t-shirt bearing the slogan, "I'm pro-choice and I vote", holds a sign reading, "Bush/Blair baby killers!"

Another anti-war protestor shouts, "If you ain't against the war, if you ain't down with the protest, if you ain't down with peace, I'll bus a cap in yo a$$!

Got to laugh at the fools. :)

Earth to Hollywood, shut the f-up, no one cares what you think. Entertain us! Dance puppets, dance and sing!

The best way to end war and ensure peace is to kill the enemy.

"To do that, to walk through a crowd of angry people, well she must be one hamburger short of a Happy Meal.'

With a quote like that, if Ms. Chandler isn't a FReeper, she should be.

Great post.
