Anti-Semitic Democrat James Moran Meant It March 11, 2003
My friends, how about the Democrat congressman, Virginia's Jim Moran, having a Trent Lott moment out there? Jewish organizations have condemned him. They did so for his delivery of anti-Semitic remarks at an anti-war forum in Reston, Virginia, where he suggested that American Jews are responsible for pushing the country to war with Iraq and that Jewish leaders could prevent war if they wanted to do so.
Moran said, "If it were not for the strong support of the Jewish community for this war with Iraq, we would not be doing this." Moran ought to call Tom Daschle and these other Democrats, because he's off message. I thought Democrats and some others think it's all about oil. Now Ariel Sharon and the Jews in America are responsible for this?
Moran apologized in a statement, saying, "I made some insensitive remarks that I deeply regret. I should not have singled out the Jewish community and regret giving any impression that its members are somehow responsible for the course of action being pursued by the Administration, or are somehow behind an impending war."
What do you mean you regret it? Insensitive remarks? There's nothing insensitive about this. You said it, congressman, and you meant to say it. Apologize for saying it, maybe, but don't tell us you didn't mean to say it. We're among the most informed citizens of the world, congressman. We will not fall for this kind of escape hatch.

Email this morAn and let him know that he's not off the hook:

Also, you might want to email a newspaper or too and complain about the double-standard. This would be frontpage news if a Republican made the same remarks. Here are a few email addresses:

Of course he meant it he is a Nazi.

For the record: "Time" magazine headlined a story with the face of Trent Lott on its cover and named it "White Washing the Past" and basically called the GOP and all the south rascist. They have yet to report on the blatant comments of Jim Moran. "Whitewashing" indeed...

Now I KNOW Rush's people lurk here. Earlier today, I tired of reading all the "Moran this" and "Moran that" thread titles, and I asked that FReepers put "Dem Jim Moran-WV" in parentheses (since the media won't) lest there be any confusion with the very noble, very admirable Republican Congressman from Kansas, Jerry Moran.

I believe Time magazine is owned by the New York Times newspaper. If so, the owners are self hating Sulzberger jews.
I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for Sulzberger to report Moran's nazi like commments. The Sulzberger owned New York Times praised 'herr' Hitler, covered up the holocaust, opposed Israel becoming a nation in 1948, constantly calls for the vivisection of Israel, and opposes Israel's right to defend itself against muslim terrorist murder today.

"This would be frontpage news if a Republican made the same remarks. Here are a few email addresses."It'd also be front page news if the JOOOOOOOOOOZ REALLY DID RUN THE MEDIA LIKE THE ANTI-SEMITES INSIST.

Yes have any publicly condemned Moron for his comments...?
They are much louder protesting Bush's war then they were when White Trash Billy commited treason, did not have sex with an intern and perjured himself under oath.

"They are hiding under Robert Byrd's bedsheets."
Nah... Byrd doesn't have sheets on his bed; he wears them on his HEAD (at his local Klan meetings).

I asked that FReepers put "Dem Jim Moran-WV" Make that "Dem Jim Moran (VA)". He represents the northern district around Alexandria (I think the 4th Congressional District, but not positive). This is one of the real slimeballs in Congress -- but when you consider all the Dems (the Baghdad 3, the defenders of Clinton, the CBC, etc. etc.) they mostly all fall under that descriptor...
To: ReleaseTheHounds
I'm happy to announce as of last election my neighborhood has been redistricted out of Moran's and into Tom Davis'. I thank God for that every night.

I have some fine, and very close Jewish friends, and believe me, this kind of crap scares the devil out of them. Unlike most of us good old American Catholics & Prodistants the Jews passed along the horror stories of the Holocost. Not just how it happened, but how it started, with just this kind of political manuvering on the part of people in power.
A good friend of mine had a wonderful grandfather. He was a young man in Germany in the late 30s. He told me stories that made me physically sick to my stomach. He was a woodcarver by trade and the things that they did to that man were beyond cruel, they were barbaric. His grandson, my friend, could recite each and every horror story as if he had lived it himself. My mother used to get very upset about this telling of the stories to young children until one day my dad took issue with her thinking. My dad was in the 101st Airbourne in WWII, after the Bulge he fought his way across the Rhein and liberated a Nazi death camp named Ubergammargau. It turns out that Abe, my friend's grandfather, was one of the ones he liberated. He then sat me down and told me the story of the liberation of the camp, I was 13 years old at the time, and I'll never forget it. My mother sat and cried as my father gave his account. When it was over my mother said, "Bud, you never told me this before". My dad replied, "Now it's time you know. It could have been us in there, it could have been our families in there. Everyone should know what the Krauts did, and they should shame them for the rest of time"! The old man was serious, he didn't much like Germans. Can you blame him?
