Mr. Green spoke at my son's graduation from an Annapolis high school last Spring. He is an inspiration to all.

if he set his sights on the job currently held by Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-D.C.).

I'd much rather see Green run for a real Congressional seat, one that could help the GOP expand its majority, rather than for Holmes Norton's ceremonial, non-voting seat.

Absolutely fabulous football player and a real good man.

I'll be urging him to run and if he does, I'm pledging a 100 right now.

I've never liked the Redskins, especially since Dan Snyder's reign of terror began, but I always thought Darrell Green was just a first-class citizen as well as an outstanding football player. He and Bruce Smith truly are role models for our younger generation.

Black conservative ping

If you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)

Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

Who in the world wants Norton's worthless seat?

A seat on the subway has more value.

I doubt there will be one dissenting vote when he gets voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Imagine, a guy in his late 30's was still the fastest player in the NFL...

We need to nominate Darell Green and have him run aganist Moran!

It's no surprise that most athletes are conservatives. I wonder if Steve Young would be interested in politics?

Both of my computers, the one at home and the one at my office has a #28 Washington Redskins bear sitting on the monitor.

Green has always been my all-time favorite football player. He is a man of class who never let his fame or fortune go to his head. Now that I learn he's a Republican, my respect for him has increased - if that was even possible.

I'll miss seeing the fastest man in the NFL racing up and down the field for my beloved Redskins, but I will look for him in office.

Anybody who could survive 20 years as a defensive back in the NFL has to be some sort of a genius. He's got my vote all the way.
