LA HABRA -- Antiwar protesters burned and ripped up flags, flowers and patriotic signs at a Sept. 11 memorial that residents erected on a fence along Whittier Boulevard days after the terrorist attacks in 2001 and have maintained ever since.
However, although officers witnessed the vandalism Saturday afternoon, police did not arrest three people seen damaging the display because they were "exercising the same freedom of speech that the people who put up the flags were,' La Habra Police Capt. John Rees said Monday.
"For this to be vandalism, there had to be an ill-will intent,' he said.

I only regret that the people on those planes on 9-11 who were killed, should have been the peaceniks instead of decent folks.
Where's a good "human sheild" when you need one, LOL.
Seriously though, the liberals are digging their own graves. Come the 2004 election, AMERICA WILL NOT FORGET how anti-American, dems really are.

The so-called peace demonstrators have been given the benefit of the doubt for too long. While it is true that there are some people who are legitimately concerned about the costs of a war, it certainly seems that the majority of those involved in "anti-war" demonstrations are, in fact, anti-capitalist, anti-American and anti-semitic.

"The peacniks simply hate the USA and see 911 with moral-equivalence eyes."These are not people seeking peace, not for anyone. These are people seeking revenge for a Republican win in 2000. These are people filled with rage and hatred. I have actually known people who were tremendously opposed to violence--they'd avoid harming anyone or anything. They had genuine loving hearts, and unlike these, during the Korean and Vietnam wars, served in whatever capacity they could to help the troops: nurses, doctors, or just volunteers. They supported their country, they did not desecrate memorials.
I only mention this to remind people that there are genuine peaceable people in the world, but these things here bear no resemblance to them. These creatures are no better than gangbangers on a rampage.

Destruction of property that is not your own or without the permission of the owner is now free speech?
Sad world when even cops don't understand the Constitution.

Yes, moving one's fist forward is a right. If the leftist dumbass places his nose in the trajectory, then upon impact, he will have infringed upon the other individual right to free expression. Upon the dumbass' fall to the pavement, he should be arrested for interfering with the other individual's civil rights.
