Pakistani agents 'just hours from bin Laden' By Alex Spillius in Islamabad (Filed: 11/03/2003)
Pakistan's intelligence services claimed yesterday that agents were "just hours" behind Osama bin Laden thanks to information gleaned from the arrest last week of al-Qa'eda's number three.
"From our intelligence gathering we feel that he [bin Laden] is alive. We appear to be just hours behind him," a senior Pakistani official said at a briefing following the arrest last week of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed.
Khalid Sheikh Mohammed - the chief planner of the September 11 attacks - and other suspects including a Saudi Arabian, Ahmed al-Hawsawi, were detained in the same raid on a house in a suburb of Rawalpindi.
Officials said Khalid Sheikh Mohammed claimed he had met bin Laden in December but refused to say where, and said handwritten letters found at the house where he was seized on March 1 were from the al-Qa'eda leader.
In an unprecedented briefing at the Inter Services Intelligence headquarters in Islamabad, three officials, who refused to give their names, said Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was held in Pakistani custody for three days before being handed to the Americans. He refused to talk for two days other than to confirm his identity. On the third day he began to divulge information; they did not say why.
A brief, grainy video clip from a camera in the corner of the interrogation room appeared to show the al-Qa'eda man sitting with a blanket around his shoulders.

Aren't these the same people that told us they had captured two of bin Laden's sons? I'll wait to see the body before I believe them again.

I thought it was the Sunday Mirror that reported about bin laden's sons.

On the third day he began to divulge information; they did not say why. Maybe the battery jumper cables attached to his naughty bits?
To: InvisibleChurch
.....and then there is the theory that we have had him since the day that the BBC and J. Post reported his capture followed by a Presidential news conference where nobody asked even one quesion about Osama BL even though it was the buzz all day.

A jet plane is just hours from anywhere on earth. Osama could be in the friendly skies.

He used to use planes quite a bit to go from country to country, and he also used ambulances. But I suspect now that all planes are being watched.

Because Binny needed 48 hours to get to Iran.
