Students for War is an ad-hoc committee established to build support across America for military action against the murderous regime of Iraqs Saddam Hussein.
Let us be clear -- we regret immensely the pain and suffering that inevitably result from armed conflict. However, we feel the events of September 11th demonstrate clearly the terrible cost of inaction in the face of danger from Americas avowed enemies.
If the United States would have have acted decisively against Al Qaeda bases in Afghanistan before September 11th, the tragic events of that day might well have never taken place. Thousands of Americans who died that day mothers, fathers, children and students -- would still be alive.
Instead, our government hoped for the best while the danger posed by Al Qaeda grew.
In 1993, Al Qaeda trained the murderers of 18 American soldiers in Somalia.
In 1996, Al Qaeda bombed the Khobar Towers in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, killing 19 Americans and injuring 500 others .
In 1998, Al Qaeda bombed the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, killing 223 and injuring thousands.
In 2000, Al Qaeda bombed the U.S.S Cole, nearly sinking it and killing 17 American sailors.
Yet, even as the threat posed by Al Qaeda grew, the American response remained primarily diplomatic. Talk, talk, and more talk. Al Qaeda continued to operate openly from bases in Afghanistan, building their worldwide terrorist network and preparing to turn U.S. airlines into weapons of mass destruction.
Finally, our governments inaction caught up with us. On September 11, 2001, Al Qaeda hijacked four airliners, destroyed the World Trade Center, damaged the Pentagon, and murdered thousands of Americans.
Students for War hopes America will not dishonor those Murdered on September 11th by forgetting the lessons of that day: that our American homeland is not immune from attack, and that we cannot permit Americas enemies the opportunity to strike. Please Sign Our Petition...
Dear Mr President,
Saddam Hussein's determination to build chemical, biological and nuclear weapons is a danger to the lives of Americans and people around the world. As Commander in Chief of America's armed forces, please order military action as soon as is reasonably possible to remove Saddam Hussein from power and ensure the disarmament of Iraq.

We believe the regime of Iraq poses a threat to the people of the United States much greater than that of Al Qaeda.
The regime of Saddam Hussein is an avowed enemy of the United States. It has spent billions working to develop chemical weapons, biological weapons and nuclear weapons. It has murdered thousands of its own citizens with chemical weapons. It has invaded and attempted to conquer its neighbors. It openly, and proudly, provides funding for terrorists to bomb civilians in Israel. Defeated in war by the United States, it promised to give up weapons of mass destruction then refused to live up to its obligations for verifiable inspections.
Saddam Hussein has broken earlier agreements promising not to build weapons of mass destruction. It is wishful thinking to believe hell abide by future commitments he might make.
There is every reason to believe an Iraq armed with nuclear weapons might sell or give such weapons to terrorists or another rogue group.
Allowing Hussein to continue in power is to guarantee him the opportunity to secretly build chemical, biological or nuclear weapons. The lives of Americans in their homes, schools and places of business are put in jeopardy every day this risk continues.
Imagine if an Iraqi nuclear weapon were detonated on a American city either by the Husseins regime directly or through terrorist intermediaries. The result could be the catastrophic death of millions of Americans.
We realize good people may disagree with us. We respect the commitment of those in the peace movement to their principles. We even respect those who are visiting Iraq and participating in Iraqi propaganda aimed at stirring up opposition to American military action.
However, we feel those who would appease Saddam Hussein are just as misguided as those leaders of yesteryear who chose to appease German dictator Adolph Hitler. We feel those who would ignore the threat posed by Hussein are as naive as those who thought terrorists would never murder Americans by the thousands.
Students for War is determined to ensure that no American city is attacked by chemical, biological or nuclear weapons. Toward this end, we support military action as soon as is reasonably possible to remove Saddam Hussein from power and ensure the disarmament of Iraq. Please join us in this important effort.
Please sign the petition and tell your friends about out efforts.
