Freep the Sheryl Crow email address

Some members of Free Republic freeped Sheryl's message board around the Grammys. They have since changed their policy to one as follows:

"3. You are welcome to share an opinion with us if you do so in a respectful way. However, during these times of unrest in the world, comments about the UN, US, Europe, the Middle East and Iraq - both pro and con - will be severely restricted. Use the email address if you have a point to make."

I say that we accept the invitation to contact Ms. Crow.

comments about the UN, US, Europe, the Middle East and Iraq - both pro and con - will be severely restricted

What does this mean? That we can share our opinionws, but they'll be screened-out?

Well, it's her site, she's entitled. I'm sure you feel the same about this site, that the private owner has a right to moderate it....

Actually, the moderator says she doesn't read the message board so it isn't really her site. If it was her site she would be reading it. Though I do suspect that she does read it despite their claims

Dear Sheryl,

I have two respectful comments about the UN:

1. Libya is the current head of the Human Rights Commission.

2. The upcoming session on Disarmament will be chaired by Iraq.

Not even SNL could have scripted that scenario.

Very respectfully yours,

BOBTHENAILER

Just because she doesn't read the message board, that doesn't mean she doesn't own the site. If she's paying someone else to moderate it, and to moderate it the way that she would, then it's as though she were moderating it. It's her site. If Jim Robinson were paying someone to moderate this site, that wouldn't make it any less his site.

Dear Mz. Crow -
Being that all of your songs sound alike, I urge you to find another line of work. Something with low-impact thinking. I can think of a line of work that suits you, some dancing skills required. Give it some thought.

one of my all time favorite quotes of the anti war movement came on Grammy night from Sheryl Crow:

"Nothing says peace like diamonds"

If you owned a message board site would it not be prudent to read it - at least ever so often- even if you were paying someone to moderate it for all kinds of reasons including legal ones.

Why waste your time?? the loudest and clearest message sent to those of her ilk are to boycott buying their music, viewing their movies, etc.

Dear Cheryl. I used to buy your music, now I will steal it off the net since you dislike President Bush and our Military so much.

So this is their take on FREEDOM of speech?

Everyone is free to speak. It's just that some have a louder voice than others. In this case Ms. Crow is listened to because she is "famous".

That does not mean anyone has to listen to her. Or you or me or anyone else for that matter.

So, when Ms. Crow speaks, people listen because of the volume. Not because of her message necessarily.

Personally, I think Ms. Crow is fecal. You can attempt to "alert the media" about that but they won't listen. Even though my voice is just as important as hers....

her comment was so wrong for so many reasons and why it is one of my favorite comments. I think it should get more play in the media.

No kidding... actually, if anyone has an audio file (.wav or whatever) of her saying it, maybe a nice little video of her saying it over and over, while images of the death and destruction wrought by diamonds (the wars, murders, starvation, and cruelty) displays... I think THAT would be pretty cool... ;0)
