I'd rather watch a whole weekend of re-runs of The Brady Bunch than this.

GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) — Former U.S. Sen. Bob Dole says he's displeased with the first of at least 10 debates against former President Bill Clinton that will air on "60 Minutes."

The two 1996 presidential opponents taped a debate Thursday morning about the wisdom of a tax cut in wartime. It will air Sunday.

"I think it needs to be a little tougher," Dole said Friday before speaking at a Lincoln Day dinner held by Guilford County Republicans. "It needs to have a little more edge to it for people to be interested."

Clinton picked the first topic and Dole will choose the next.

Each of the debates will feature about 45 seconds of commentary from each man.

"I don't know how they'll get it into 60 minutes," Dole said. "To try to get (Clinton) to say anything in 45 seconds is pretty hard."

Both men are spouses of U.S. senators. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (news - web sites), D-N.Y., and Sen. Elizabeth Dole (news - web sites), R-N.C., were "both terrified" about what their husbands may say, Clinton has said.

I say boycott the charade. Who wants to relive the 96 election disaster? And why support Clinton groping for more limelight?

Leaving aside for a moment that you probably mean the 42nd President, a person can't be "formerly impeached" unless the impeachment is overturned.

Since that's not the case, thank God, I think you mean "Impeached 42nd President of the United States."

And he's a SCUMBAG, too!

I watched it. Dole at least made one comment about donating his tax cut to the Clinton library lol. But it would have been better seeing them sit across a table at each other lol. If you had blinked you would have missed the moment actually

Dole was right on one thing: "With all respect, most of the economic downturn is due to the economic hangover of the 90's". Other that, Clinton looked like a bafoon and Dole looked like a somewhat intelligent individual.

The two 1996 presidential opponents taped a debate Thursday morning about the wisdom of a tax cut in wartime.

Supposedly the topic was suggested by Clinton. For Dole to have accepted it was a serious mistake - the topic was obviously chosen as a "have you stopped beating your wife yet" topic. It assumes that tax cuts are bad, which plays right into Clinton's hands.

But maybe Dole will wise up quickly and propose a topic for the next "debate" - for example, should Senators and Congressmen actively undermine the President in a time of war...

I just knew that clintons ego couldn't let him stay out of the limelight. After what he did to american famlies, after what he did to this country, it pisses me off me beyond words that any respectable news station would give him an ounce of credibility.

Bill, you truly ignorant egotistical slut.
