Now he says that there's no evidence that Iraq intended to us the aluminum tubes for anything bad. Of course, it isn't bad to use absolutely everything in one's arsenal to kill infidels according to the Head Islamist that ElBaradei follows.

They are both lawyers-no one is better at dissembling than a lawyer. I wish I could see this circus, but I am doing billing in another program while I try to keep up with this thread in the net.......

Questions for Powell to pose:
Are the inspectors allowed access to Presidential Palaces and military bases?
At what rate does el Samoud production continue?
Can an object exist even if it is not located by ElBaradei?
Does the statement 'there is no evidence they are used for nuclear weapons' mean 'this proves they are NOT used for nuclear weapons?'
Just what the hell does Jochka Fischer think is so damned funny this morning?

Well I have seen enough of this posturing, time to call (the question) everyone put their cards on the table and see who is Bs ing.....time to settle up this hand and move on to the next one...this may be a two-fer, us going after Iraq and gettin out of the UN in the process...let these fools cut their own throats they can play penny ante with themselves, this is high stakes no limit....
To: areafiftyone
Did they show Powell's face at all while he is listening to Hans Blix I'm not sure, I never saw anything like that. But I would imagine he's just sitting there resignedly waiting for this hogwash to get over with so he can start presenting some real info.

Baraaday -- concludes that Iraqi did not have techno ability to use aluminum tubes for nuke processing. The tubes were for rocket engineering. Now talking magnets -- IAEA verifyed that magnets could not be used for nuke processing -- other purposes,

You can see Colin Powell right next to him and he does not look happy! Can you blame him. He produced evidence and they're diplomatically saying it's BS.

This report by Blix was an insult to the intelligence of Americans if not the world! I am sitting here stunned with his total whitewash and his actually saying very little except more time required!

To: just mimi
Blix says "We're working under 1284, not just 1441, though some people might take this report to be a reporting on 1441?" Anybody else catch that better and what he meant by that?
Yes: this was important. Blix was deflecting Bush's specific line last night about what his job is: to report that Iraq hasn't disarmed under 1441's requirements. He attempted to say that he's really operating under resolution 1284's mandates instead. So I took this to mean that he's telling the United States not to push him around.

I cannot take much more of "diplomacy" because I have had it! I think you're going to be taking a couple more weeks of it at least. Just my opinion, but everything I've heard from Bush, particularly last night, leads me to think that he is absolutely committed, for whatever reason (internal political, comparison with '91, commitment to Blair), to getting "cover" from the U.N.
He's going to give it at least one more really hard try to get the U.N. to acquiesce -- and he's going to take whatever time it requires to do that.
Just my opinion. I've been wrong before (plenty).
To: Petronski
good questions! (esp the last one... is he the one they just cut to a few minutes ago? I noticed it looked like he was grinning!)
